Wow that's actually really fun and unique! Congrats!

I think that my bullets were a little slow which made it very hard to aim, and the controls on the rope were a bit sluggish so I couldn't dodge predictably either. At some point I just decided to swing around as fast as I could and shoot everything and it was surprisingly effective, until I ate like 10 asteroid fragments and died 😅

But I really like the sound design, and the art is really nice too. I think this could be made into something really cool if the controls were a little tighter. Thanks for submitting!

Developer

I agree with the slow projectiles, especially since the debris moves quite fast too. Might help to give some friction to slow down the movement when no input is given. Anyway thanks for playing glad you enjoyed it!

Very nice :) The difficulty creeps on you while you get the hang of everything. Good audio and visuals. The rope steering is fun and rocks bouncing off each other make it challenging :D

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Nice music! It was a pretty fun game with a nice challenge. I liked the tether and swing system, pretty cool physics!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed the game and my music.

Pretty cute game overall! There was some pretty nifty physics for the cable and the ears. I liked how the ship being damaged was visually conveyed. With Steven on the team I was surprised to see mixels. :P (A term he introduced me to) But it makes sense given that there was more than one artist.

At any rate, cool entry you guys. ^^

Developer(+1)

lol thanks for playing! you are right, I am planning to do next GWJ on my own,  so you can expect less mixels haha. Multiple artists make it hard to coordinate :/

Pretty fun and quickly ramps up into more chaos, i like that you put rebindable controls in there, the spritework is really good and i like the little detail of the ears flapping with the physics depending on where you swing, also the tune is pretty epic.

You guys did great :)

Developer(+1)

haha, thanks for playing our game. I took way too long to get those ears how I wanted them so thanks for noticing that detail haha :P

Submitted(+1)

Well that is a pretty neat detail so it had to be noted XD

knowing how much work it can take to have such details down, especially sinc this is related to physics

Fun game. I wish I could shoot more often as it gets hectic pretty quick but it's not a negative. Great job!

The graphics gave me Rampage vibes, which I enjoyed.  The controls were nice, and the chaos wasn't overly chaotic. Very fun game

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it out! I did not know that serie of games but I can see the similar chaotic feeling. Glad you enjoyed

Submitted

It's the chaotic-ness coupled with the art style, but also I think I've only ever played Rampage World Tour and that was a decade ago, so I definitely could be misremembering

We should have made a Robot Gorillas from Outer Space as the final Boss!!!!!  😂

Man were the physics fun! I loved swinging around the ship in a circle and watching the ears flop around. Really cute idea, well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the kind words :)

Submitted(+3)

why are those damn robots attacking me? Don't I have enough work fending off space debris?

Good game. Not so easy to control at first but very enjoyable

Developer

They want to bite your big juicy carrot satellite of course! Thanks for trying out.

This is a fun game. The two weapons mechanic worked quite well. Physics really felt like a zero gravity environment, it was fun using the tether as a slingshot. The art was looking acceptable, but a bit jarring at times. Music was sounding great!

Good job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and glad you liked it! A friend actually managed to slingshot himself out of the screen…

This is hectic! There's some nice resource management to do here - saving missiles for the stronger enemies while plinking away at the weaker ones with your basic gun - and there are a couple of nice touches, like the fact that the space station is it's own health bar. The art is a bit inconsistent, though; the space station and player character are really nicely drawn, while the background and enemies look pretty flat.

Developer

Thanks for playing John! We had an idea of an ammo system that you would pick from the destroyed debris but we focused on bigger priorities (we didn’t have the aliens until some hours before the deadline…)

I agree the art is inconsistent since we had two/three artists. E.g the earth planet sprite should be a much higher resolution so the pixels are the same size as the rest.

Anyway glad you liked it.

Really nice game, the movement was a bit weird to control for me, but eventually, I just got used to it. Really loved the music, I was bopping my head the whole way, while I was playing.

Developer

Thanks for trying it out. We had an option to brake to stop but in the end we weren’t using it much so we removed it. Maybe the character should brake automatically when no movement input is given.

Glad you enjoyed the game and my music!

Cute space bunny! :D Enjoyed playing your game very much.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you liked it! Will try yours Soon™

Cool game. Being tethered to the station makes the movement really interesting. You can go really fast without having to worry about getting away from the action. The sprites are super cute, and the music very fitting. I only thought the rocket was a bit useless since it was quite slow, maybe some sort of homing ability might have worked here.

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you liked it! I was afraid the music would be a bit off-topic given the graphics style. But I find it’s good to fight the “pixel art = chiptune” stereotype :D

The rocket was the very last addition so yeah we didn’t have time to balance it much unfortunately.
