fun idea! i made it to wave 9. i liked the addition of missiles to give me more assistance without requiring me to do additional inputs. felt like the difficulty ramped up pretty fairly. would love to see some music and audio! enemy shake effect was cool too.
Hey you made the first GODOT tutorial I ever saw.
Great job man! Loved the difficulty scale. Would love to see what this would look like if you had time to really polish it.
This is cool! It's clean, intuitive, and pretty addicting for how simple it is. I wish there were sound effects though! And some theming to the UI that matches the geometric art style.
This is EXTREMELY addictive. Great game!
Thanks!
Cool game! I wondered if you could display a progress bar for missiles queuing up before launching to help me know when they'll coming out.
I wanted to have text for the upgrades so you could see how they worked but I ran out of time. Missiles actually fire each time you kill an enemy!
Interesting concept. I live the way you presented health of incoming objects.
I would add some music and sfx to make it even better.
Also maybe different forms/colors of objects.
Good job!
This is a much better game than it first appears to be. You've got great pacing, great upgrades, good hit impact effects. Just needs a little audio.
Bonus points for great replayability.
Thank you!
Love it! Feels like it has potential to be a great rougelike game. And it would be better if the game has sound effects, good sfx can really increase the addiction of the gameplay.
Fun game concept! I love games with such intuitive control schemes. The game could be a touch faster, but overall it works well. Would've loved to see some crazy explosions here and there!
Great entry!
The physics added an extra layer of complexity to the game that was fun to interact with. For example, it felt fun when a sonic shield or missile explosion would send everything way back up to the top. The spread blaster could also be used like a tractor beam on the sides at certain angles. I really enjoyed the game loop and am still curious about figuring out the best upgrade strategy!
The one design choice I wanted to call out was the assembly points system. It felt bad having the 1 assembly point get wasted every round as I was struggling to keep up with scaling enemy health. Having an incentive to not reroll or making the reroll a separate currency would have made it feel like I was getting maximum value each round.
Glad you had fun with it! I agree with your critique of the extra assembly point. The original idea was to allow "freezing" modules so you could roll with your extra point and then freeze a good module for the next time. Unfortunately, I never made it that far.
Very interesting submission! Aside from the obvious tips (sound/music), I really liked the pseudo-knockback (maybe you might call it a hit-stop?). That was extremely clever and well-made. I think this is a pretty successful game though, period, and if you were to spruce it up, you'd get people to buy it. :P Only thing I'd mention is it would be nice to get some settings so that you could turn on a color-blind accessibility mode - the colors of things can kind of blend together otherwise and it's tough to see the shield (imo).
Thanks Kyle!
