Truly great game, fun, stylish, original, well polished. 5 Franken's arms out of 5.
Great game, just wish it was longer. also we both made Frankenstein games haha.
We did, lol! Tbh Frankenstein was the first thing in my head when I heard the theme, I'm surprised I haven't seen more games using that idea lol. Regardless, thank you for playing!
The polish! The UI! The art!
And above else - the original Pokemon vibes!
Amazing submission!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Impressive game, really well animated with balanced and fun mechanics and a really neat theme. Great job
Thank you! I'd argue with you that the game is balanced but I'll take the compliment lol.
Seriously such a cool/complete game! I was already happy to see your itch page was nicely put together, then the game was awesome too! Damn, what a great submission! I thoroughly enjoyed your take on the theme, it came together super well and the story was so awesome. Nicely done!
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate the itch page, that's something I've really been trying to work on as I publish games to this site. The story only exists at all because I forced myself to use all three wildcards, which I'm really glad I did!
There’s always something nice in a well crafted itch page.
And I’m so glad you did! I think this might be my favourite game of the jam!
Wow, cool game. Interesting gameplay. Good graphics and audio
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
This is really next level. So much atmosphere, down to even the little touches like the echo-y footsteps, super fun art, great writing, and the mechanics are so impressive. I was really expecting to have one or two possibilities for body parts, but there were so many and they all had their own exciting traits! Swapping was simple and slick, combat was easy to understand but allowed a lot of strategic approaches, and it was all just so fun. Really, really great job.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, that means a lot. All that atmosphere was so that I didn't have to make background music for the main game lol.
Wow, love the graphics and settings.
Cool theme.
Awesome game!
Good job!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
23/24 body parts found.
Man, this is the first game I play to finish. This was something special. Great humor, very nice style and setting. Good sounds. Stunning, really! Nice fight system, nice assembly.
I did not find Z and X very intuitive, but I didn't care much about that. Also I was not used to have enter go back in menus.
Time flied by playing this game. Hat's off. Great work.
Thank you! That really means a lot. Yeah I think the controls could have been mapped a bit better, I set it to those keys in the beginning of the week then never touched them again, I originally wanted to allow for button remapping but never got to it.
Also generally with anything running in your browser the Escape key (Which I think of as the 'traditional' pause button) is reserved so it's best not to use it. Like if the game was full-screen and you pressed escape it would exit full-screen and potentially pull the focus away until you clicked the game window again (Although I didn't even have full-screen turned on so maybe it's a moot point lol).
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback.
Really great game, very well done for a game jam and amazing presentation. I really like the game concept, its like a mash up of Metabots and Pokemon. Great job! Definitely enjoyed playing this.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
This is so polished that I can't believe it was made for a game jam.
I enjoyed it a lot! Even more with the use of all the wildcars, and the original use of the theme,
That means a lot, thank you! I definitely spent a lot of time on it lol. Forcing myself to use all three wildcards really shaped the design of the game, especially the temperature one. They ended up meshing really well with the jam theme imo.
Really enjoyed this one!
Thank you!
This is fantastic. Great take on the theme. The combat and monster creating was a blast!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Lovely game! The equipment system is creative and my favorite part of the game, both gameplay-wise and aesthetically. The overall environment and the fighting scenes looked decent and most of the visuals were clear to follow. Good work!
Thank you for playing! I honestly spent arguably too much time on the art and sprite-work lol. There are a bunch of finished sprites that never made it into the game due to time (You can see a few unused body parts on the title screen if you get lucky).
Great Job! Very nice! Pokemon with a mad scientist, love it! The ending gave me Cult of the Lamb true ending vibes, love it!
Thank you! Yeah that's pretty much the exact vibe I was going for. Haven't played Cult of the Lamb yet though, hopefully that's not a spoiler lol.
not at all, but go play it, totally great game!
Very nice! In addition to what folks have said below, it feels very GameBoy due to the palette and I absolutely love that - it's all-around got a lot of positive qualities, and to have pulled off so many features in such a short period of time shows true dedication!
The only thing I'd suggest for the future is to include WASD for arrow inputs as well, as many keyboards these days do not have the arrows at all, or have them in weird spots (mine are in four keys across both hands, it's so dumb, but I have to use it for ergonomic usage). But yeah, overall the game felt very great!
Thanks you for playing! Yeah one of the things I had originally set out to do before this jam was set up fully remappable controls (which I didn't get to, obviously). What you suggested though would have been a pretty easy middle ground though that just never occurred to me. Thank you for the feedback!
Nice high-polish game. I like the retro feel. Well-done!
Thank you!
This is one of my favorite entries for sure! The RPG take on Frankenstein is quite clever! But I'm an RPG fanboy, so I'm biased haha. Graphics are very well polished, the dialog is fun and the overall presentation is very appealing! Great job!
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
