Really cool interpretation of the theme and great use of wildcards! Graphics, audio and level design are great too! Controls felt a bit delayed but I got used to it in time. Sadly I didn't have time to play the game in the ratings phase. Great work!
Wow!
Great game - loved the difficulty, not enough to make me break my computer but enough to get me to try, try, try....try again
I mean it, I loved the challenge.
Game felt very polished - sound maybe could have been improved on, but that is nitpicking best so far for me
The controls felt weird, it felt like the snake turned late (eventhough it was my fault for pressing the button too late).
This is pretty fun! Good concept, nice graphics. The controls were too spongy, and there were often collisions detected what felt like much too soon. Otherwise very nice!
very cool, its a simple concept but works well! i especially liked when the level started moving with the camera as well, it was a small change but it made the game a lot more fun! but as other people have said, the controls could be better. other then that tho its a really good entry!
Such a good looking and sounding game. Very cute spin on the concept.
So cool!!!
I like the style and difficulty is on point for me.
However the timing on turn is hard to get and the gamplay gets... unnatural. I had to force myself to press the buttons early to get the move I want.
Anyway, great idea, looks good, design is great. ++
There is so much that is good here. The graphics, the animation. The puzzles. The challenge. But... and it's a big but, the controls are really odd. I expected A to turn left and for D to turn right. It's very hard to adjust!
I'll try again and maybe I'll get used to it!
Ok, I've played again and finally managed to complete level 1!
My tip would be to make level 1 a lot lot easier
BUT
You have made an addictive crazy game with this level of difficulty so well done
Thanks for playing, I see what you mean. Maybe there should have been 2 control modes and it wouldnt take long to code probably, I prefer the 4 way direction but I can see a case for your style as well. Thanks for your feedback
This is a great game! Lots of polish, a well thought out gameplay loop, and great visuals and audio. You’ve received lots of feedback on the controls, so instead I’d like to mention that I think this would really shine with some adaptive music.
Like, introducing a fast paced drum beat when you pick up a chilli, having some kind of happy travel motif when you have passengers, or having the music turn big and ponderous when you have a certain number of carriages.
That’s just a suggestion, of course. Overall this was such a cool game it doesn’t really need it.
Well done!
Thanks for playing and thanks for your suggestion :D
Awesome! I enjoyed so much my experience with this game, it's a very polished game. What I can give as feedback is: Controls can be less punisher, multiple times I died but in my head I pressed buttons on right time.
Great job!
This is a really cool concept to The Snake game and turning it into a puzzle game. I wish the snake was a little more forgiving but I also might be bad just seem to run into walls while I am trying to turn at the tile before I hit but I am too slow.
HELL YEAH I FINALLY BEAT THE LAST LEVEL.
Very good game. You turned snake into a fun little puzzle platformer / rythm game. I like it. The powerups were very well introduced, great level design.
Looks very charming. Strong contender for top 1 this jam I think
Thanks for beating the game, like I said on the page, the last level isnt easy, so good job on beating it :P
Interesting use of theme. Well polished art and audio.
I love the concept, art style, and audio. It's a very polished game! The only thing I had trouble with is identifying exactly when to turn, because the art style is so good it's difficult to tell exactly where the underlying grid cells are. I think adding very faintly visible grid lines would help a little to make the controls less frustrating without taking too much challenge out of it.
Yep, I 100% agree, thanks for your feedback :D
This has good potential! I had fun but got frustrated by dying without any apparent reason. I was more than a square away from closest wall and didn't go into myself. Bad loser, apparently :D
No but I think you could have added a death animation, or crash animation and made sure that it happens when you actually crash into the wall. Now it happens WAY before any real crash occurs. So that was a little sad to me.
Music fit very well, good jungle theme :D
Also interesting idea to have an objective driven snake with wagons, it was an original take on a classic game.
The controls were what made me quit after a few levels.
Cool game, well done!
Thanks for playing, you may have been running into the rocks that were in the water, hindsight tells me they could have been a different color. also adding a death animation is a good idea, thanks for the feedback
Were they spawned randomly each attempt? Ah yes they should absolutely stand out in color or contrast I think, because they just looked like the background. Ok, thanks for clearing that out :)
no every tile is placed by us, no rocks are being placed randomly
Original game. It certainly gets harder fast :)
Great idea and creative take on the theme! I loved this as a puzzle game.
Obviously labouring the point here, but I definitely got frustrated without some "cayote time" on the tiles. I definitely did not feel like I had hit stuff. Either way, with that tweak I think you will have a unique and marketable idea here for a bigger project!
Definitely feels like a really cohesive product. Well done!
Thanks for trying it out :D
Yeah I agree with you, I tried to make it more forgiving but it would be a pretty complicated system the way I did the movement (certified jam moment) but yeah maybe just a clearer grid would already have helped
This is a fantastic entry. Its super creative. The art and sound are excellent, and I really loved the puzzles you've build. This is a fun twist on snake that is very well executed. My only issue is the same that others have mentioned, which is that the controls are super punishing. I think with some more forgiving controls, you basically have a complete product if you can come up with more great levels. Amazing job.
I like that is just train as snake but the twist of the passengers, the only thing to improve is the controls, they aren't responsive enough, the feedback of the tile you're at is also weird, but it is not consistent when you press (sometimes it turns fast other times it completely ignores your input).
Thanks for playing!
Thinking back on it it would probably have been helpful to have the tiles have a checkerboard effect to let the player know when a tile is ending.
I loved this cute little game. The graphics in particular were really amazing and I liked the twist to make the classic snake as a puzzle game. The controls were a little sensitive, but the tip to hold down your input really helped me control the snake better. Well done!
Thanks a lot for playing :)
