Possibly one of the more complete games of the jam, chock full of little details. I loved flying too close to the sun and hearing the sound change. The logs and details about Psi waves were fascinating and I hope to play a little more and learn a little more about the lore. I assumed there were some pretty cool shaders at work in there too, the graphics, while simple, were usually extremely effective.

I found Maaack's point about leaving the planets to be extremely true; it was extremely tedious and not always successful to leave a planet. If that's intentional, I think that's fine, but something told me that wasn't intentional. If there was an easier way to leave the planets, that could be worth tutorializing, even if done kind of implicitly.

Really cool work and one of the more fully realized ideas of the jam.

Great game! I love space travel sci-fi stuff, so the exploration was really fun and the lore books were a cool addition. For the criticism I can give:

  • Sometimes it felt the eyes were coming from below me in the planets, though I didn't get killed for it at any point;
  • I did like going through the planets, but I skipped the last one because it didn't feel worth it to face more danger if I already had the mothership on sight (and because my life support was almost dead already :P but that's a skill issue);
  • One minor accessibility nitpick I have is that the sensitivity slider didn't seem like it ranged enough, I had it at max and even then it was a bit below my standard (which stands pretty low on the sliders of most games I play).

Overall though, the game looks and sounds good and I very much had fun with it. Awesome job and awesome entry!

thank you for the kind words and for your feedback! all very good points :D

I like it, very fun :)

Really an immersive game. you made a lot of item description, you took time to create a world, that's a really good game!

By the way, I love the little astronauts giving their tablets ! x))

Also got burned by sun so many times, too much risk taken here :)

Developer(+2)

really appreciate the kind words!

Unforunately I haven't had time to dive deep into the lore of the game. But I liked the controls in space so much. I find it easy to move through space in your game.

Developer(+1)

thank you!

I really appreciate the experience!!

my only problem here is the audio, not well mixed. I would have liked to be able to reduce the volume of the sfx without changing that of the background music, which is not bad.

I loved being attacked by eyes, it was surprising.

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing! good point on the mixer volumes, will keep in mind for the future

Like another player mentioned, I was also immediately reminded of Outer Wilds. I did rely heavily on the knowledge from that game to play this one, though. That being said, I do think the arrangement of planets worked to ramp up progress. The first couple of eyes to hit me either came from behind or through the planet, so I had no idea why I was suddenly taking damage. I also expected that I needed to go into orbit to leave a planet, but found having any forward momentum made leaving a planet impossible. There's quite a bit for players to figure out, even for those already fluent in Nomai.

I did have fun though! I was also re-introduced to Jolt physics in the comments, so I might have a better context now for when I'd want to use it.

Great work to the team and thanks a lot for the experience!

thank you so much! really appreciate the feedback, player learning curve is something to focus on more for sure :)

Nicely done!

Developer(+2)

appreciate it :)

I liked the atmosphere, at first I tried to collect the eyes but then I got to know the reason why they're after me. And that ending :o
How did you code such a big space, is player the root of the scene?

Developer(+2)

thank you so much!

we built the player & each planets separately then arranged it in a scene. nothing too different from usual. Jolt physics engine helps with the performance at that size

Haven't used much add-ons so far but will look into that, thanks!

This was a fun game! Loved the graphics and controls (although I kept launching xenobuoys unintentionally because I play Space Engineers a lot).

Were the enemies supposed to spawn inside the planets? Made it a little tough to see where they were coming from.

Great job overall!

Developer(+2)

thank you so much :D

to simplify the physics we decided the enemies could 'phase' through stuff so its an unintended side effect. would've fixed with a bit more time

Submitted(+1)

Really really cool. This is like a much more realized version of what I was trying to accomplish in my game (orbital simulation), and it reminded me a lot of Outer Wilds.

Developer(+1)

was definitely an big inspiration :D

Submitted(+1)

Very cool, this was my first introduction to Jolt physics in real gameplay. Thanks for making this!

Developer(+1)

thank you :) i was surprised how easy it was to implement but it makes such a performance difference for this kind of project

Wow this felt like a pretty big project for a game jam, very immersive and atmospheric

It does a great job of creating that feeling that someone or something is watching you and then doubles down on it with some literal flying eyes

I've stumbled into the final scene right away on my first try, had to restart to check out all the planets

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! Its not perfect but we worked really hard on it and are really proud :D

Good Game. The scenery was beautiful.

really appreciate it :D

Cute space game

thank you!

The atmosphere was super well done! Felt very lonely and eerie floating around in space.

Early I struggled to understand what my goals were, but I think the level did a good job naturally guiding me in the right direction despite that.

Also the eyeballs are super creepy. Audio was very effective!

Developer(+1)

really glad you felt what we were going for :D and very fair feedback on the goals, we thought about it but ran out of time
