Game Description
Trapped in a dark forest you must use your torch to fight waves of shadow creatures.

How does your game tie into the theme?
With the theme being light and dark I have chosen to set the game in a dark forest. Where the player is fighting hordes of shadow monsters. And you must use a torch(light) to defeat them. You have a gun, but that merely stuns them. I have also stuck to a colour palette of few colours of dark and light to stick more with theme.

Sooo cool that you managed to really do very different enemy types/ai in such a short time.

It is very unfortunate that I played your game  so late in the jam. Since I encountered a lot of similar games (top down shooter) in the jam, I could not give it a good originality rating, sorry :(

Thank you a lot for playing. I'm happy with what I got done for a first jam so enemy types being mentioned in comment is always great to hear. No worries that's fair. I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a too original to start with.

Congrats on your first jam ! Having multiple enemy types was a nice ambition. I didn't understand the difference between the two types of shot.

I think the next thing you should focus on is adding more gamefeel, screenshake & enemy flash would be my first thought for this kind of game. Graphics are nice

My feedback is much the same as others.. Some form of feedback would have been nice when an enemy was shot. I still had a good time playing and the art is super cute!

I got 1650!

I liked seeing the new kinds of enemies show up, and their different behaviors. It's playable and all the basics are clearly there, which makes it want those bits of polish that of course just take time.

Congrats on your first jam!

oh, and editing to add that I really like the title. It grabbed me.

Thank you very much. Just reading this at work and has put big smile on my face. Good start to the day :)

Appreciate the comment and happy you like the name and enemies. I thought the name was cool. Hoping more these ill do ill have better management of time and have more time like you say to polish things better. It was a bit of mess the last day or two haha

As others have pointed out, some more visual and sound feedback would have made this more appealing. The idea is fun though and I really like the variety of enemies and how they have different patterns. Well done!

Thanks for very much. I'm happy you liked the enemies variety as that what I found most fun making. Next time around I'll put focus on having some sound and visual feedback. Appreciate you giving it a go and making time to comment. Thanks.

Neat, I liked that this had a variety of enemies with different behaviors/attacks.

The connection to the theme felt weak, and narrative rather than mechanical. I think some visual feedback, SFX, and music could make this feel much more fun to play.

Congrats on your first GWJ submission!

I appreciate you giving it a go and glad that you liked the variety of enemies. Yes, totally agree by the last day or two getting the game to be in played state took more priority than the theme. I could have put less time into the enemies and more into visuals and sounds maybe. But glad to have got something out for my first jam. Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep what you said in mind for the next time.

Got a 3500 score. Simple game, but I think could be maybe a bit faster overall, and it'd be good to make enemies have some visual feedback when you hit them and show their health. It'd get neater with sound and some juice as well. Nonetheless, congrats on your first one!

Thank you for playing. That alone means so much. Yes I do get what you mean with it needing to be faster. I'll keep that in mind as well as visual hit feedback. I did plan to do a lot more, but that never came up so I'll remember that going forward. Appreciate the feedback boss.
