Game Description
This is one of my first times participating in a game jam (Godot Wild Jam #72). This game is about going from a dark environment to light by finding the switch.

How does your game tie into the theme?
Character starts in a dark environment and needs to switch on a light switch to allow the light in.

Really cute art!  I think doing something, like a larger visible area or have the robots have some lights so you can see them a little farther out would have been nice, as is I really struggled to get away.  It also took a while to realize exactly what I was looking for.  A quick demo at the start would have helped.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback :)

Yes, unfortunately I was short on time at the end of the jam so I didn't get the chance to create a demo but will take this into consideration for my future jams. Thank you again for playing!

This is fun. I had some problems with walking into the robots quite a bit. It would be nice if they had a slight delay when they came to the light so that you had a bit more time to react and adjust.

Developer

Thank you for playing and for your advice! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

I will make sure to take this feedback on board

I think there is some non-visible walls that make it little bit frustrating to play. but other than that it is fun to try to avoid the robots and find the switch. maybe add a story why the robots are chasing you in the darkness?

Developer

That's very useful feedback. I didn't intend on having  non-visible walls so this must be a bug of some kind.

I like the idea of adding a backstory for this game. Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to play!

I love that once the lights are on, the robots are like: "Well, nothing I can do now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

This is a very nice first jam game. I liked the directional sounds for the footsteps, it makes it easier to know when there are robots around. A little tip: once you get your player move input, try something like this:

var move_dir : Vector2 = #player move inputs here
move_dir = move_dir.normalized() * move_speed

This makes so that the player doesn't go faster than they are supposed to when moving diagonally (or in any direction that is not cardinal, for that matter)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game! Thank you for your advice, I noticed this during the development but couldn't figure out the solution in time.

That's great advice and will implement this going forwards :)

It can be difficult to avoid the robots and I wish there was more of a warning before the robot gets you and you have to restart the level. Good job on your first game jam though!

Developer

Thank you for trying out my game and I really appreciate your feedback. That's something I will consider for my future devs, appreciate your advice :)

Pretty fun, but way too frustrating to play for very long. The fact that the robots appear out of nowhere and immediately send you back to the start brings this from a pretty enjoyable game, to something I gave up after getting halfway through the second level.

Thank you for playing and for your constructive feedback. This was my first game jam so I welcome any advice :)

Thank you again for taking the time to play.
