Really like the art direction here. Are there any power ups or more you can do than just redirect the light? I like the concept a lot but would have liked to see some more variation. Really nice entry and very cool that it's optimized for mobile as well. Nice work! Really dug the music too.

Currently there's no power ups but I can see how they would make the game more engaging. It's something to consider for future jams. Thanks for all the feedback!

Neat game! My high was 3000. Gets hectic when you start to hear the anticipation sounds coming in waves and you have to quickly spot which enemy is about to shoot.

The enemies always attack in the same order so for a higher score, the advice would be to keep track of the order they are currently firing in. You can even play without sfx with this method.

Simple, yet fun game. The controls feel great, the artwork is amazing and love that you added the option to change the background in the options menu.

Great little game, loved the art, the menus and sound effects :)

Nice quick game to play. Also nice sound design, and real retro space invaders vibe!

Really nice work, the theming of everything was great.  Difficulty ramp was pretty good, and I like how you eased in the transitions of the two extra enemies so there was, provided you did well, a periodic brief spike of tension.

Developer

Glad you liked the difficulty ramp, I was trying to focus on game flow so it's good to hear this.

This is a fun quick game, I love the art direction you took.

I was doing well dealing with the big laser, then the mean little laser things showed up and ruined my feelings of superiority! Super easy to give it just “one more” play over and over again. Well done!

The dynamic background and art are very charming. I was doing fine until the little laserlings came after me. I appreciate that you can see the damage you've taken reflected in the graphics of the ship wall.

I enjoyed it! It reminded me of a retro arcade style game. I though the art was really well made and the gameplay loop was addicting. Nice work :)

Developer

There was definitely some inspiration from Space Invaders that went into this, glad you enjoyed it.

Really fun little game.

Fairly simple game. Not sure about the theme but I can see what you tried to make.
Btw, the music volume was super low.
