One of my personal favorite games of the jam.

Fun. It's fun. That's it. I did not want to stop playing despite having other things to do. I would love it if you expanded this.

I also really appreciated the thoughtful tutorial. Thank you for submitting!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoy the game.

Fun little game! I like the world you've built there! The tutorial has lots of text, I thought it would never end, haha! Other than that, the mechanics are simple, easy to use, and wrap up a fun and engaging gameplay loop. Good stuff!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Will improve on the writing.

Great tutorial
Having shorter tutorials would be great, At one time I wanted to wander around but the tutorial was not finished yet.
The U key is far from WASD, it annoys me, using Z or X maybe better
Teleportaion is great
There is a lot of variety in the upgrades, that’s great

Thanks for playing! Will keep in mind to improve UX.

very cute and charming game, i really enjoyed my time playing this submission. you executed a unique concept very well, and it felt very polished too. i really wish there was an endless mode because i just wanna keep playing haha. one of my favorites so far, great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Endless mode seems like a good idea for a new game mode if I update the game. Will keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!

Fun game! It felt very polished for a game jam :)

I think I couldn't progress with the tutorial at some point, but my actual run was smooth and bugless. Like someone else mentioned, I believe a sense of progression would make this game more replayable (and addicting, probably).

Overall, great work! Loved the designs for the tower boy and minions

Developer

Thanks for playing!

There might be some bug in the tutorial section that I wasn't aware of when I was play testing it. Will look more into that later as a post jam update.

Thank you for the input as well. I'll keep progression in mind if I update the game.

Glad you like the design of the characters. I was afraid the art design might look weird since I'm not the most skilled pixel artist. Hopefully I'll be able to find a pixel artist to team up with and fix my janky designs lol.

The idea is nice. Characters and animations are cool. And it is super helpful that you have a tutorial. The game will have a lot of potential for replayability if you add a progression in the basic mechanics. Advanced minions that automatically wander around? Different buildings? Traps? It could be very interesting to experiment with these.

PS: I was looking for the fullscreen button in the bottom-right corner but found it later in the options :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Thank you for the feedback as well. Different minion type is an interesting idea. I thought of adding an ogre like minion to guard the tower automatically from the soldier but ran out of time before implementing it lol.

Will keep them along with your other feedback in mind when I update the game.

And thanks for reminding me to toggle the fullscreen button on the Itch page. Thought I had, turns out I haven't lol.

I really like the UI panels, they look professional. I loved being able to drop nukes and warp across the map, though it does remove any sense of threat from the knights when a few button presses clears them out immediately. Good game!

Thanks for playing! I agree that the balancing of the meteor skill is a bit off. Will keep the feedback in mind to improve on balancing the game in the future.

Fun game! A lot of systems at play for a jam too. There are some glitches regarding using multiple abilities (for instance, using the meteor spell, not finishing it, then using the teleport will allow you to move across the map without spending the full mana amount). Totally understandable given the amount of systems though. Great work!

Developer

Thank you for playing. I thought I had patch out all possible bugs, but I guess some still manage to slip by lol. Will keep that in mind when I update the game.

Cute game, a bit long though. There is a mistake in the tutorial. The recall button is not on the left, it's on the right :D Also there is way too much text in the tutorial.

Thank you for playing it out! And thank you for your input on the tutorial. Writing is not my strongest suit but I'll try to improve for the next jam.
