The font was challenging to read, but the story was engaging. The most fun was the chase, that was a nice break from the story, but also in theme. I will say sharing a tutorial or explanation of controls would help. I had to click around to figure out how to interact with things

nostalgia game on the good old rpg maker horror games. However, wish it had more game-play and less talking. Anyway, good job!

Liked this one. Great use of atmosphere helped sell the hauntings of the place. Fabulous pixel art especially on the monster in the key room. As others have stated the text speed and readability could be made better, but was never a bit concern for me during my playthrough. Did accidentally soft lock myself by interacting with the door in the ritual room after making a choice. I don't know how much of it was left but I assume I was basically done.

Great work on this game, very spooky!

Developer

Ah man sorry bout the softlock, yeah not much after making a choice so no big.

Thanks for checking out the game.

Great story and atmosphere! I had difficulty reading the text sometimes thought x) but everything is fine, I had a good time!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Great atmosphere, the character portraits were beautiful. I enjoyed the writing as well, but I wish there was an option to skip ahead the text or at least speed it up, it was frustrating that I had to wait for it.

The chase with the monster was fun, it took a few attempts for me to figure our the right strategy.

All props go to pixiepill for the art and writing, she’s really good!

Thanks for checking out our game, glad you enjoyed :)

Great game. I got scared a little and like the pixel art.

Developer(+1)

too scary imo

This is seriously impressive, really great work at setting an atmosphere with the art, sound, and game feel. I do wish there was a text speed setting as others mentioned.

Great work!

Thanks so much for the compliments and checking out our game!

Quite a nice game! The art is pretty and sticks beautifully together. Though I got two problems to address, one is the speed of the text as other stated already and the other one is the font, low readability for me got me wanting to skip dialogues a lot

great submission anyway :)

I loved the art for this game, all the pixel art was absolutely beautiful and gave the game a creepy ambience. I agree with Genya Games that the biggest problem was the text speed and the hitbox on the pursuer. I wish the text went three times faster. Overall though it was an engaging story, good job!

I would’ve liked to add a speed up text option for sure, thanks for checking out our game!

The atmosphere (music, art, theme, etc) was pitch perfect imo. I loved the music box to death, that was so creepy and I felt invested in the story for how short it was!

Two small nits 1) dialog speed was just a touch too slow and 2) that one hurtbox in room three was just too big, so some losses felt cheap.

Great job :)

If I had time I would’ve liked to add a key to speed up dialog like what you can do in the Pokemon games.

Thanks for checking out our game!

Damnit lady let me pick up the keys!

So there was some laggyness in the game and I came across a game breaking bug, but I thought that the character was speaking gibberish on purpose, so that could be a fun accidental effect to use in the future. Presentation was great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking out the game! Yeah, the dialogue bug is a bummer :(
