Very cool! I was really bad with the first two weapons but somehow managed with the crossbow. I don't think I got very far though. Whenever I turned around (instead of just going straight ahead all the time) I just got instantly overwhelmed by monsters. Maybe I'm playing the game wrong xD. I have to say, I really like the art and the sound and music. And the gameplay was fun even though I completely sucked at it.
I think you have a lot of potential with this project here! I'm not sure if you did much playtesting though. I think its very important to try your project and have others try it as you develop. It will help with a lot of the issues I found while trying to play. I think with just a few additions your game can be a lot more fun: a sensitivity slider, weapon hit feedback, and stopping the enemies from being able to corner you.
Great concept, all the ambient felt very coherent! The character sprite was amazing and the music felt on point :)
Too hard for me though n.n" The mouse moved a lot and I wasn't sure when I was hitting the enemies
Anyhow, nicely done! :)
A great game! Love how the 3D environments blend with 2D assets, love the aesthetics! The only problem I have is that I did not know what to do first, there is not much introduction and a really fast sensitivity. Overall a fun game!
Congrats on the submission! I haven't touched the 3D games yet, but I think it's a decent first attempt! A minor thing to add I'd suggest is having your weapon selected right away - anyone... I wasn't quite sure why I faced those guys bare-handed, and I had to exit full screen to check what the controls are :)
Had to read the comments to figure out how to start, but once I did it was actually good fun! I missed a way to change the sensitivity, and I softlocked myself towards the end because enemies stopped spawning and I hadn't been very diligent about feeding the orb but I genuinely had fun with it! Good job and congratulations on submitting!
Phew, very hard. I don't get how to use the second weapon properly. Fighting the light grey enemies with the sword, attacking the dark ones with the arrows, especially when health is low. But at some point there's too many enemies, affecting performance. With some more polish on the controls, this will be a cool game, I think. I do like the challenge though! Good job, especially for a first entry.
Nice game! I think it had a solid gameplay loop and pretty good atmosphere.
The art style and gameplay reminded of the ancient DOS game Heretic.
I quite liked the art and animations, though wish the game overall would've get more polish.
Feedback on issues encountered:
- Music resets when you switch between menu entries (look into autoloads/globals, with them you can loop music between scenes)
- "Back" button in level select doesn't work (missed connecting signal?), same as "main menu" button on death screen
- "How do I start the game?" problem mentioned by others
- On game start, if instead of pressing Enter you press A and then press Enter, the game stops responding
- I didn't understand what the 2nd weapon does. It makes a swing, but seemingly does no damage (enemies don't die) (on second thought, are there actually 2 types of enemies, immune to different types of weapon?)
- Sometimes I would get snagged on ramps and stop moving, which allowed enemies to catch and kill me (misaligned collisions?)
- If a group of enemies catches you, they can very quickly block your movement and/or insta-kill you (maybe make an invulnerability timer after getting hit, and/or make enemies pushable)
- Some enemies got stuck in the roof in one of the side rooms (I assume spawnpoints are misaligned?)
- Camera felt too sensitive, had to crank down mouse sensitivity to the minimum to make it playable; wish there was a setting for it
- When you die, you can't click the restart button with mouse (game keeps mouse cursor hidden and/or grabbed)
Hope that helps for your future projects.
Cool characters and animations once I figured out how to get started! Definitely really challenging, it's really easy to get overwhelmed and trapped in a corner. But I think the concept is really cool; killing these weird creatures and feeding them to the cocoon to help it grow... Very creepy vibe, pretty cool
I liked the artwork on the enemies/weapons/walls and the music was jammin'. I think I would have liked a little more feedback on when the player was taking damage (it's hard to keep your eye on the health bar moving while in the middle of a fight) and it seemed like sometimes the enemy was spawning right on top of me - I don't know if they were just stealthy, teleporting around, or spawning in close to me. I didn't understand the purpose of the small alcoves at the edges of the room - they seemed like they would be a good place to make a stand at, but perhaps I was just bad and couldn't make a stand there as the enemy would get in the alcove easily with me. When entering the level it would have been nice to start facing away from the big pink teleport -in-ball (or did I miss it's purpose?)
I second needing some tips on how to play. I couldn’t figure it out.
Im so sorry, i must've forgot to set W to enter. the default key to enter the level is enter. really sorry again.
Can I get some pointers on how to play? I spawn in, I see some door or something moving but pressing WASD, I can only pan between that and the character, for whom great art!

No worries, thanks for clarifying! Now that I could open the door I got to play through, nice work and I like the enemy sprite too! I ended up running backwards from the enemies and using the arrow as my core strategy. A sensitivity slider could be a good add, it was very sensitive on my mouse.
