Nice clean visuals and interesting gameplay!
Cute fun puzzle game :-)
Nice concept to both control dark & light and also to use the shadows and light to be able to move. Lot's of levels also and probably some work to test and make them. Nice effort! And I got them all :-)
Maybe in a future update some more challenges or extra obstacles to make it a little bit more difficult and thereby also even more satisfaction when you complete the levels.
Visuals were simple but smooth and polished and very pleasing for the eye. Audio fitted with the game and characters. Controls were good and smooth and nice to be able to control both characters and same time.
Theme is checked and no UI also.
This has been a jam entry well done! Keep it going :-)!
hey!thanks a lot for you answer! i'm glad you enjoyed playing my game. I'm looking forward to participating in your next jams :)
This is a really well made game with nice polish. I like how if the white circle dies, the shadows all disappear for a second until the level resets. (You might consider having the black circle pop in result too, since it's suddenly in light.)
The one thing that stood out to me, was that while monochrome games can look nice, this one almost felt as if it needed color. Like the white and gray checkered background would look better pale blue and white and the flames could have been red and blue maybe. Not sure why, it was just a feeling that came to me as I played. Another playthrough I might feel completely different.
hey, thanks! if i ever get to this project again, i'm gonna consider this suggestion
An excellent use of the theme! I really enjoyed the way you make each object work together and the dual controls really messed my brain up! LOL
I would pay money for this game!!!
really love this game, it's like fireboy and watergirl except one player and even better. I can see how level design would be pretty tough for a concept like this, but it came together great!
i like the game
Well that was fun! Difficulty spikes a bit, and controlling both orbs felt a little like playing piano - especially once the projectiles came in XD
great idea, simple but great art and fun gameplay (oh and no ui so everything is really good)
I loved the game so much. I think the idea of this is so smart for the theme. I love the art and I think it worked so well for the game. I love the idea of there being two players as well as just one and how there are many different ways to solve this. I cant wait to see what you will do in the future.
Wow haha, thanks a lot! It's really good to read comments like this. Good luck on the jam!! ๐๐๐
Thank you, same to you. I think you got a good chance of wining.
I loved the music and the concept. Very simple and creative mechanic, yet lots of fun. Also it is a nice game for couch co-op.
A simple to understand concept like this makes the puzzles quick and fun to play! I felt that some puzzles could be cheesed a little by putting my little light buddy up against a block so that their light got blocked almost 180 degrees. I think that might be a tough one to balance out though, you'd need working mirrors or transparent blocks or something. Either way it didn't take away from the lighthearted fun that this game provides. I liked it!
Glad you liked! Yeah, I've noticed that on some playtesting haha, just didn't know how to fix it. Thanks for playing!
GREAT GAME!! the puzzles are nice and music is relaxing.
cool game
It's cool, I like it! ๐
The visuals are gorgoeus.
Pretty cool game!
Initially I did not understand that the black ball needs to pick up the flame-object but then it was pretty fun to play.
relaxing music as well. Excellent level designs too!
Good work!
oh hey we went for similar mechanics.
The game idea was really good! I think I would have liked a bit more of a challenge.
Good job!
This game has such a simple concept but so well executed, I love how this mechanic turned out.
Hey, thanks a lot! ๐๐
Wow! I don't even know what to write for this game. How did you coded the light kills dark?
It's actually really simple! Everything that is out of the line of sight of the white ball (light caster) is in the shadow. So just check if black is in LOS of white ๐
Hm so if i understand correctly, you are creating single raycast to the dark ball and check if it is visible?
