Description
Last Breath describes the feeling of an elderly person whose life is ending. While the surrounding atmosphere becomes blurred (we hear his loved ones talking, the ambulance siren passing,...), only we know that his life is ending in a few minutes. And we share his last feelings, his last look, his last tears, his last sigh. Death then becomes both the darkness and the light that carries him away.

The most emotionally intense entry I've heard. Picture becomes more tragic and clear through each listen. Incredible work.
At 0:32 the bubbles burst.... And something starts to break
You've made an incredibly sad story, and combined it perfectly with the music... Good job!
Wow, just gorgeous. I love how slow that harmonic progression was, really made it feel like time was slowing down as the breath of the song slowly came to an end, and that fade out was gorgeous too. Excellent stuff
This is just beautiful.
Absolutely wonderful work. Well done.
I feel like this has so much to teach about textures, wow!! Some standout moments for me:
0:30 super evocative harmonic shift, especially with the crumbling + bells like church bells hinting at death. Very nice contrast of stable 3-note elements in the background, watching things pass by you as you say. This section feels really nice as if you're just watching things, somehow timelessly for the last couple minuts
1:30 the low end growing before the high end (emotions/feeling come before thoughts/words)
1:40 very cool when vice versa, high comes before low (crying about loss, but knowing you can't do anything about it)
1:50 feels like a last breath
2:00 only high end feels like there's nothing you can do but accept what's happened.
It's interesting the big high/low string contrasting layers come most prominently later in the piece, nearing the end. And background elements take the main focus in the middle, kind of this liminal waiting period. There's so much here that feels like it mirrors the stages of grief. Each layer feels like it serves a purpose, with such an effective ebb and flow. I noticed there were times I would anticipate one to come, only for another to take it's place. Each grabbing for space, like the emotions and thoughts pulling at you. Phenomenal job on that interplay
Not sure why today's the day I write essays on some people's entries xD, but it's so good. I could imagine Jeremy Soule writing this, the musicality, writing, feeling, everything really comes together here
Thank you for your deep analysis, it's so touching to see that these little subtle intentions I create are currently audible and understandable by someone. Thank you a lot, I'm delighted. <3
A real moodsetter! Nice one!
That's deep... great work
Very foreboding mood. And then I read the story and it matches very well. Love the chord change at 0:30. Loved the choice to hang on an unresolved V chord towards the end. Expressive strings. Great work!
really wonderful track capturing an abstract topic! i love your use of somber strings that sit upon the background noise of everyday life. really conveys the theme well. great work!!
Bravo.
I liked the way the last note felt like it was just hanging on for too long. Felt thematically appropriate!
Really good! Sounds like the music that plays when the beloved character dramatically dies in a movie, very dark and atmospheric
