Sadly there's no web version for this game because it's really really nice! I tried to find a TD and didn't find anything interesting to play, happy to see others that had such great ideas!

I really had fun discovering it but I find a nearly optimal spot that doesn't need me to move (or really rarely), I'm more than 900 seconds right now and losing one life every 60 seconds I guess :D. Ruining my game :p.

The base idea is nice and well implemented. I'd be happy to see more of this game, with turret building and more maze shape and ennemies! If one day you decide to push further this game, don't hesitate to pm me!

But as others I agree, early on it's too aggressive you don't know what to do and the red things on tress shouldn't have been red, but that's details.

Hey ThatAmuzak,

This is an interesting approach to the tower defence mechanic.

I got  a score of 359.1 seconds.

I liked the way you positioned the rings, it is quite pleasant to the eye. I also liked that you avoided using the colour red on anything other than the things directly relevant to the player.

The enemies were noticeable  due to the movement but it would probably be better if they had a distinct colour as well.

The few pink trees on the right side did not really do much for the colour theme of the level.; if anything, they conflict with the red in turrets making the turrets slightly less noticeable.

One other thing that I noticed was the timer last digit went into a second line some times. (I think it was the milliseconds)

Other than that, it' a cool game. Nice work!

Cool concept and visuals, i really like tower defence games.

The game is too frenetic right from the get go, i felt i overwhelmed at the beginning until i got the hang of it.

Wow, very innovative game! I love tower defence, and one common complaint I have with them is that a lot of times you just shit back and watch, but here you have to be active constantly. I made it to 160 seconds, the best strategy I found was to park the four corner turrets to good areas, and focus on the middle one. The music choice is also great.

Very fun experience. I could easily see myself playing a full version of this.

Awesome game :) and good gameplay

Neat idea and one of the more unique implementations of the theme I have seen thus far. It can get hectic real quick and a challenge to manage so mange turrets but I really like the concepts. Just needs that extra "lean towards helping the player" to make it even more enjoyable :D

Submitted

I love the idea. I think it fits the theme really well.

Developer

thanks for playing the game!

Fun and interesting way to implement the theme. It is hectic managing all the towers and getting them into position. The best I did was positioning the outside ones and just managing the middle. It was a fun experience. Great job!

Developer

Glad to see you liked the game! The intent was to make it hectic, so at least that worked out well haha

Nice game. Although I did just end up parking the outer turrets in good locations and the using the inner turret to defend

Developer

Yeah I always intended for there to be some choke points, but only after the jam did I figure out they were took good. I wanted it to be more of a temporary stopgap where it can be placed for a bit while the player handles another part of the map, but yeah, hardly got any play testing done. Glad you liked it!

I analysed the spawn patterns and placed turrets accordingly. Once optimal positions are figured out, the game can go on forever. I decided to quit at 335 seconds

Submitted

Yeah! Its easy to stay forever. But this was fun.

Cool idea, I always like when someone makes something new in tower defense genre. A bit chaotic and feels out of control, but only in a way that there is way too many enemies as the controls themselves are very responsive and smooth. One bug I noticed is that if you don't touch towers for a while they stop shooting.

Developer

Glad you liked it! That bug is strange, one of my friends who played it found the "optimal solution" for running the game forever got like 350 seconds before he manually quit. In any case I'll check it out and see if I can replicate it. Any specific tower that stopped shooting, and at any specific position?

Submitted

I tested again and I think it might of actually been range. if you put top right tower just far enough from road, it might shoot at some passing enemies and ignore some others. I believe they're on the edge of tower range and some just are a pixel closer.

Very nice graphics

Fun game! Nice take/twist on the tower-defense genre with a fitting mechanic for the game jam. The rotating of turrets was very responsive and snappy so great job with that.

Developer

Yeah that aiming and shooting, along with the enemy logic was what took the most time. Glad you liked it!

Cool game! Agree with the others that starting with an easier level would be nice.

Developer

Thanks for checking it out!

I made it 142 seconds! It was difficult to manage all of them at once with the number of enemies, but I was able to position a few in a central location that could reach two paths lol. I LOVE this twist on a tower defense game. I think it really has cool extension opportunities, like upgrading towers to follow enemies or have larger/smaller rails to slide on. Thanks for sharing!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! I couldn't really spend as much time on the jam, and that shows in the lack of depth in the core gameplay loop, along with the difficulty, but the idea was that the enemies would eventually overwhelm you anyways. I'll try and work on upgrading towers down the line if the game gets more traction/feedback. Thanks for playing it!

The graphics are really nice. I like this clean low poly design :). As others have mentioned, the gameplay is a bit hard. Maybe with four circles it would be a bit easier. Nevertheless I would love to see more levels :D

Developer

It's not my graphics lol, the kenney jam necessitates that we use assets from kenney.nl, so that's all I did. The only difference was the slight colour correction and glow on the bullets. The difficulty is definitely too much, especially given that you can't upgrade the towers, and I unfortunately ran out of time for that. More levels and upgrades for towers are next on the agenda if I get back to development on the game. Thanks for checking it out!

Cool concept, stunning thumbnail, a bit difficult but a great experience!

yeah I barely had any time to make the actual game for most of the jam time so a timer highscore was the last second solution XD. Glad you liked it!
