This was a pretty fun game a unique spin on the match puzzle genre. Very good use of the theme. Great job!

Here I was expecting a run-of-the-mill match 3 game, and boy was ever pleasantly mistaken.
The hook is clever, the dialogue between the narrators are charming, and the use of their ladder-climb animation to spin the gears is brilliant!
I found the rotation controls to be somewhat awkward, what with the A and D going unused, I'd expect those to be the controls of choice, and the arrow keys as an alternative.
Otherwise, the game is very well polished, feature complete with volume controls, multiple game modes, music and SFX. Very impressive for a game jam, and I very much enjoyed myself.
Excellent work! :D

Excellent puzzle game! Really liked how you incorporated the theme into the game. However the rotation was a bit slow for my taste so I'd speed it up a notch so you can complete levels even faster.
Dude! Its awesome! My favourite part is the story! But the whole game concept is great too!!
For me the animations was a bit slow, but all in all, nice job! :D
This was awesome! I loved the banter between Q and E. My only real complaint is that I didn't really notice the bomb most of the time and only remembered it when I wasn't sure what to move next so it'd be nice to have a bit more attention drawn to it when it's fully charged. Maybe a sound que or something? But overall great game!
This game here is what I call a game with a heart! I mean look at it, you've manage to make a simple tutorial instruction 2 lovable characters. And pressing the button actually shows an animation of them turning the gear! What's not to love about it! hahaha!
Controls are easy to grasp but would make it feel even smoother if the rotations are faster. Actually you could even make it a gameplay mechanic where you could upgrade "Q" & "E" by maybe giving food or something which will make them more energetic thus spin it faster hahahah. One way you could implement this is maybe different color combo gives different bonus, green combo gives food, red increase more boom gauge, gold add more points, blue add more time, etc etc.
Overall, this is a really good take on the traditional match-three puzzle style game, with a little more polishing it could really work as a fun mini game or mobile game! Keep up the good work!
I cannot recall the last time a puzzle game made me laugh. The characters surely add a flair to the game and make it feel more immersive with context appropriate stories and comments. I like how you designated the game-relevant details to one NPC and the 'real life talk' to the other one- this helps with information comprehension.
I think each step (W,D) costs 0.5 second but rotating the board (Q,E) costs 1 full second. Was there any specific reason for this difference? Since there is a mode with time limit, I think it would be more fair, in terms of gameplay, to have both mechanics cost the same amount of time. Preferably less than a second.
When the "bomb" mechanic is used, the feedback needs to be better visible regarding which items were destroyed. I noticed a few flashes but it all happened too quickly, and I could not observe them all. To better convey this info, instead of delaying the explosion (which would mess with the time limit experience) you could highlight the newly spawned items for a second or two and then remove the highlight.
Nice work and good luck!
Thank you for your review! I'm really happy that you noticed what I was going for with the characters, with Q being a classic tutorial explainer, while E reacting to the absurdity.
The time limit and shift targets were actually put in the last few hours of the jam when I realized that the game didn't have much to keep you going (The freeplay version of the game was how it was originally). So the balance of the shift targets and time limits is a bit out of wack. After the gamejam I will try to make the rotation faster and "punchier" and the visuals of tile breaking to feel better, as those seem to be the most common criticisms. Thank you for playing!
Q & E are cute, I really enjoy playing! Sometime I cant stop pressing A and D lol
great job! well put together puzzle game.
loved the dialogue between Q and E, really gave the game some personality.
well done!
This game would be perfect to spend hours playing on a mobile version. I really liked it. And I loved the writing of the characters too, they're so cute and funny, it actually made me enjoy the game more (the line about forming a union really made me laugh). I liked how their interactions can change the gameplay a bit, it makes sense and has the potential to add even more mechanics if you keep working on it after the game jam. Great job here
As others said I think the core mechanics doesn't add much to the genre and is doesn't feel very intuitive.
I absolutely love the two characters an the interactions between them. It adds a lot of personality to the game!
I also liked the mood of the game, the music fits perfectly and the visuals are nice.
Good job!
It's cute that the characters talk! I felt that the theme was well utilized in the rules. Awesome!
This is pretty interesting, like the back the forth with the characters, it's kinda funny!
I was expecting pieces to get moved with gravity when I rotated, but using the player as a tool to switch pieces was really cool.
