Ok, I'd like to say what everyone has already said. The game is very good in almost every aspect you can think of.
But I can't see the "connection" theme here? Could someone please explain that to me xD
I think it is the shadow part where you are connected to
It might feel like a stretch to some, but you can disconnect and reconnect to your shadow. Also, thank you for the feedback!
Ah, I see, I guess that makes sense, you have to be connected to your shadow to be able to play so It makes sense xD
Awesomeeee game! Reminds me of Ghost of Tsushima, Furi, and Sekiro all to some extent.
I think you could take this further using level design, a bigger variety of enemies, and potentially more mechanics for the player unlocked later on like an explicit parry and some kinds of level-based movement mechanics.

And I agree, more mechanics later on would probably make the combat feel better and give it more complexity. I'm planning on making this game a long term project of mine, but might publish it in a different name. So for that reason, your ideas are going to be very helpful.
Cool. Yeah this is the best game I've played from this jam so far, one of the best I have ever played in a jam. I think you could take this very far. If you haven't played the games Furi and Ruiner, those should be on your list, because they have similar mechanics especially Ruiner.

Extremely bad ass visual effect for the fast samurai attack. The animation for the move shadow together with the slow mo. Also love the way when you dispatch an enemy and they pop up into the air like they've been beheaded haha. Very cool.

Loved the idea and the execution especially design wise even more. great game with a good difficulty curve, but I wish I had a mouse to play with instead of a touchpad :p great job on this one!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad the difficulty curve was fine for you. The difficulty design seems to differ from person to person, so I'm still figuring out what I should do. So for that reason, your input about the difficulty will be very helpful.
The game is fun and hooked me in. I found it challenging, which made me want to play more. Final boss was particularly challenging, and not for the faint of heart.
I'm surprised that many people actually reached the final boss.

Very addictive game! It was hard at times. but music was calm, so I manage to complete all of the lvls :) (health regen was very useful for me)

Really interesting game!
I feel like it requires a lot of strategy and that's a huge positive point for me as well as the awesome game difficulty.
I like games like these because they might seem hard at first but in reality you just need to keep playing and improving your skills on it :D I had a lot of fun playing especially after I got the hang of it ^-^
The art is really pretty and the music is amazing too, not to mention the unique take on the theme and concept.

You improved the shadow! I still cant beat the first boss, I don't understand whats going on. I hit him over and over, attack his shadows, but nothing ever happens.
I see that I might've made it not obvious enough. I guess that's bad design on my part. But the attack where he has two shadows, you need to attack him three times before he stops attacking. Thank you for the feedback. It'll help me improve, thank you!
Wow, what a wonderful take on the theme.
Such a simple yet adorable and somehow badass art style.
The game mechanic so simple yet potential for incredibly difficult fights such as the final one.
Genuinely this is an amazing game with potential to be so much more than that.
My only criticism would be to try and make the attack sounds have more oompf.
Other than that an amazing entry and wonderful game!
