A fun little mechanic! I had a good play. As a design idea: you could colour the line to match the colour squares it needs to catch. Well done

Developer

Thank you! That's a brilliant idea :D

Not Bad.

Thank you :)

I  like the idea for this game! Reminds me of Libble Rabble a bit haha. As you continue, you might consider having the boxes fly in from different directions, since at the moment there's no need for the player(s) to move horizontally , as they can dodge just moving up and down.

As some other people mentioned too, some audio feedback for gaining points and losing lives would be helpful, as at first   it didn't register to me that my lives were being lost when I collected red cubes.

I also love that it can be enjoyed single player or multiplayer without having to change any settings or gamemodes, it shows how versatile the concept can be! Great job :)

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to give such detailed feedback, I agree with all of it. This was still just a prototype (to see how far I could get in time), but next time I'd love to flesh it out a bit more and make a more "complete" game and give it some more love and attention.

Simple, but well executed with the idea you had

Developer

Thank you! That's exactly what I was aiming for in this jam.

Hello, very interesting new idea, very fun to play, good job!

Developer

Hi! Thank you :)

Congratulation for your first game. It was fun to play. Now, you can add some feedback on cubes, to let us know there effect. Some SFX and Screenshake. You manage to have a good aesthetic with simple shape and color. Music is good too.

Well done.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for the suggestions, I'll definitely try to add those in when I make my next game.

Not bad for a first game, and you've released it is what matters the most.

That said, there is no real incentive to split, it's easier to just stay as close as possible, maybe give bonus points or replenish lives for collecting multiple green cubes at once. Also at some point you're guaranteed to start loosing lives, since you're either too close and movement is too slow to get all the green cubes or too far apart an you can't evade red ones in time, some predefined patterns for cube spawns instead of full randomness could help with that.

Just keep it up and experiment, you will certainly improve, good luck.

Developer

Thank you! That is really good advice, I really appreciate it :D

Great game! I feel like adding a few more different types of cubes would turn the concept into a really interesting game.

Developer

That's a great idea! Thank you

Pretty cool! Limited assets but I like what you did with them. The angle on the lighting along with the materials used look appealing. I think the biggest thing missing is feedback when you collect a green cube or get hit by a red cube. Maybe just two sound effects for those two game events would have gone a long way.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for the feedback - I definitely agree, having some kinds of sounds or effects on hitting the objects would have gone a long way. Ran out of time for it in this jam, but will definitely put more of a focus on it for the next game :D

Good job!

Thank you!

Fun, But I do wish there was more player feedback, because when I first played I thought I was killing them with the line but then died. Maybe add a sound effect or something to signify getting hit is bad.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, that was the next thing I was going to implement before I ran out of time. I will make sure to work on player feedback more next time!

Great, a few people have used this concept, this one is the best I've played so far among them.

Developer

Thank you! That is a really big compliment :D

Sadly i had to play this one allone, but it was still quite fun! The difficulty curve is well defined, and the theme is perfectly captured. Good work!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad the difficulty wasn't too harsh - it was tough to find a balance between giving people a chance to get used to the game, but also not get bored too quickly either.

Spot on for my taste

i can imagine it may be fun when playing with friends. but it also may be too fast because it needs time to communicate (or one player basically control another player).

too bad, i don't have friends to play together

Developer

I agree! Something I would have loved to do (but ran out of time) was to add some kind of difficulty menu to the game as well. Maybe an easier difficulty for starting out, or a more difficult one if the player wants a challenge - or similarly, if a person struggles solo but does well with a friend, or does well in solo but struggles with a friend, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the difficulty too.

Something I will definitely keep in mind for the next game jam!

Great unusual mechanic.Nice work!

I enjoyed the simple mechanic of this game.   Even though it has the mechanics of a 2D game, the 3D is a nice aesthetic.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :D
