Did you work in a team?
I worked on this solo! the only help I got was from munro (munro.itch.io) with playtesting and gameplay suggestions.

Was the resolution a challenge?
Yes. I originally tried to begin developing in pico-8 but it proved difficult to do so with my experience level, so I ended up finishing it in Unity, which I am more comfortable in. However, I did not know how to make a 64x64 game in Unity without a render texture! I did end up figuring it out with the Internet's help :)

What did you learn?
This was my first effort at a sokoban-style game! So I learned how to implement the ever-important "undo" effect in a way that I'm proud of.

That was a really fun puzzle game! I'm not that into puzzle games, but this one ended up being a lot of fun actually. I can definitely see some potential in it. Good job!

I'm glad you like it :)

I like this game quite a lot, from the snappy graphics to the neat audio. I think you should keep working on this! Maybe make a set of really tough levels.

Developer

Thank you! I hope I can come up with some!

Really impressed with this. It's got some deep strategy to it, and being able to rewind means failure doesn't feel too grueling. As a whole it feels super polished.

Developer

Appreciate the feedback :)

Really nice puzzles, I love how you seamlessly fit the puzzle gameplay into the ingame world!

Loved the concept behind this! I'm a big sokoban fan so i enjoyed this a lot! Really nice job!

Developer

I'm glad :) Thanks

Really solid core idea. I think that the levels are very competently made, albeit tending to the easier side. I'd love to see this concept expanded to include some other mechanics, and maybe game modes! Overall, very fun!

Developer

Thank you :)

Sokoban submission buddies! Really enjoyed playing it, the enemies added much needed variety to the genre.

Great implementation of a sokoban game! Works well at the resolution too! Haven't played many sokoban games with enemies so for me this was a nice twist! Would love to see them do more!

Wow, a lovely game! i really like the guard's turtle behaviours, really spiced the sokoban genre that i otherwise hate. The undo is lovely too.
Also, one of the sound effects is from CDDA soundpack and, man, I need to play it again. Thus I give a high rating :D

Developer

Haha glad you like it. Thanks for the feedback!

fun puzzle game!

Had to be the first game I played since it's named sokoban too :D

That was a cool concept! I agree with TylerC that an indication of how the player is doing could have been nice. Sometimes the guards didn't really matter and sometimes I didn't find a solution that didn't involve some waiting/wasted moves. But I wasn't sure if this was intended or if I was missing the "right" path for those levels!

And I have to ask about the music, is there a reference to Monaco's soundtrack or am I imagining things?

Edit: whoops I think the comment was posted twice, sorry about that if you got a notification for it

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Waiting in some levels is intentional. I am not familiar with Monaco's soundtrack, so any similarity is purely coincidental!

Oh, maybe I'm imagining things then :D but this is the song that I was remembering

Really nice game! Much fun of it)

I think I found some hack - when move to wall enemies also moves. And its sometimes make too simple to just wait few steps like this.

Developer

That is intentional. Some puzzles have to be solved this way. But I do agree that it makes it too easy in some other levels.

Okay, this is a lot of fun, hard, but a lot of fun. Would be interested in how many moves each level Can be completed in.

Really good sokoban game. Really impressive to be able to get a nice increasing flow of difficulty in levels in such a short time frame.

A nice game infiltration/sokoban and the difficulty is progressive that's good ! Maybe you can add a level selector at the start.

Developer

Thank you! There is a level selector on the main menu that becomes active after you complete the first level :)

This is great! Glad you got the resolution issues sorted out. The gameplay is very solid, controls perfectly, and I love the rewind feature. Will play again.

It's fun but it doesn't meet the 64x64 requirement

Developer

Thanks for the comment. I'll update the art soon.
