Did you work in a team?
2, Lucas worked on the pixel art and I (Dustin) worked on the music and development. This was an incredibly fun experience! We really played off of each other's skills and created a game that we can be proud of.
Was the resolution a challenge?
I had trouble with adjusting the camera to be able to see enough of the screen and give the player enough room to see the screen. The process helped me learn a lot about how cameras work.
What did you learn?
Lucas had never made art for a full game before, and this was only my second full project. For the first time in this game I made a platformer, made enemy AI, made a working finite state machine for the player and enemies, designed levels, and collaborated with someone. I feel that every project I complete helps me learn to solve problems more quickly in future projects. Lucas and I plan on spending more time to make this into a larger game!

Nice game! Good art and story. It would be nice if there was a way to attack enemies. Good job!
Good game, even though it was short. Maybe you should have added the opportunity of attacking with a claw.
This was both fun to play and super cute. I liked the animations and enjoyed the little cut scenes at the start and the end. I agree with another comment on the main game, it would be cool to alter the color scheme possible showing it getting later in the day, but really this is a great little game!
We will definitely be adding more to the game with more color palettes in the future! So glad you enjoyed :)
The idea is already pretty great, but the cutscenes make it even better. Want me to form an immediate emotional connection to a pixel crab? Have him be sad and pick up a plant. I will protect this crab with my life.
The music and art are both charming; special mention to the health bar! Both cute as heck and intuitive. Just about jumped outta my chair the first time I heard a snake—that means it's a good sound effect, right? I played straight through to the end—the cutscene was well worth!
Glad to see we succeeded in the emotional connection :) Thank you so much for enjoying!
It is like Horton and Whoville :) .. I’m very touched by the image of my little crab risking itself to carry his little charge to safety. Very cute, and well done. The art is clear and the animations super fitting.
I hadn't made that comparison before, but that's spot on! Thank you so much for playing and enjoying! :)
Super cute little game, cutscenes and music added a lot of charm. Desert terrain was well made, although some areas could have used some more detailing with corner and floor tiles (caves for example). All the character animations worked well for the game. Platforming was simple but pleasant, and the game was the perfect length. Never felt like I was making blind jumps despite the low resolution either.
Thank you so much! We hope to add more details later, such as more tiling and music in different areas. We're glad you enjoyed it!
Short and cute! Lovely art and music style :)
Thank you so much! :)
Simple platforming with an increasing challenge level, with a nice story behind. Good that yo added some variety on te enmies, and they are well animated. I might have loved a bit more of a variety in terms of tiles, but levels are well designed and fun to go through. Muhsic is simple but quite effective through the game. Really a good job!
Thank you so much! We look forward to adding more music, tiles, and enemies in the post-jam edition!
I enjoyed the straightforward gameplay, and the pixel art and color scheme was fantastic as well!
Thank you so much!
I like the pacifistic theme and the self made music, especially the chord when you take damage :)
Thank you so much, I was very happy with how the music turned out too! :)
Really nice little game and story! I got brutalised a couple times but got to the end eventually! :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)
I like the graphics and music in this. The animation in the intro to level 1 is really nice and sets the scene nicely. :)
Thank you so much! :)
Cute little game! I loved the intro and outro cinematics, as simple as they were, they put me into the context of the game very nicely and gave me a reason to see the little crab and his plant through all the levels. Not too difficult, but not so easy that it was boring.
Very nice job to both of you!
Thank you so much, we were really happy with how it turned out!
