I would like to sincerely thank you for making a game about maids.

All in all, I had a lot of fun with this one! A pretty unique spin on the tower defense stuff, balancing out where to place units along with keeping them healed up in the staff room or trying to farm in the kitchen meant that there was always a lot of stuff to do. I think there's some balancing issues a bit though, since on the later level it was pretty tough for me to win if I didn't get an omurice within my first couple of item drops. Getting an omurice always felt good since it was a lot more permanent, but getting the 1 heal was a little disappointing, especially since you unlock the 2 heal right away, and you can heal for free in the rooms.

The different units were fun to use though, seeing their different abilities and how the level ups changed them was pretty fun, and all the effects were quite nice.

Thank you for uploading!

This is one creative twist on TD genre; really love it :3

Nice concept, pretty graphics and cute music!

Stages are really hard but after some attempts you get the hang of it.

A very polished game. I'm impressed. Loved it!

The game idea of depolying maids on tower defense/food cooking is hilarious and fun.

In the begining, I feel maybe i should use the obstacles, or try controlling character to dodge bullet hell. But once I get one character to high level, I finally see what i am supposed to do in this game. I have tried several play style, and i would say investing on Jitochi is the best strategy, as her projectiles stay in scene longer, that enemies are neutralized by her shoot before and have less time to attack. So once she gets to high level, the game becomes no brainer

Some minor opinion, I feel it will be more handy if there are hot keys for items

Developer(+1)

So, looks like you found the jitochine gun

This was pretty fun. Surprising the series with a random tower defense game, nice.

some smallish issues:

1) I had some trouble with drag drop, like the highlight would be off the mouse center I feel, which led to some deaths, also so me tiles would highlight that clearly were out of bounds.

2) There could be a few slightly longer pauses, like at the beginning to place your maids, or a little tiny few more seconds of breathing time between rounds

3) Would be nice to get some notification effects or sounds, to call out when someone is low on health or when they are back from "dead" etc.

Overall pretty fun and well done, but quickly degenerates into stacking everything on one girl and smashing her right in front.

I would have liked to test some more girls out at higher level or see what would happen if I threw a high level maid one in the kitchen, but it was just not possible, had to hurry so much to stack shit one one that I never got the chance.

Super fun, looks great, sounds great. I could nitpick this or that, but really, what's the point? I loved it.

I actually found it fairly challenging on Normal for my first play through, but after reading comments and seeing other strategies, Hard mode was a breeze. It does seem that focusing on leveling one character is way more important than balancing the different characters currently. The "Mother of all Omelet" could be game breaking depending on RNG. Some rounds I'd get it 5 times in a row, others it'd take forever to come.

I said I wouldn't nitpick but I guess I just did. Balance is probably the one thing that needs some work, as others have stated. But this is probably in the running for the title of best Tengoku game to date. Still not sure if I like it better than 2.5, but it's probably neck and neck now that I've played it through!

Thanks for playing! Originally the plan was to have all maids cap at LVL3, but upon disabling the level cap I realised the game was a lot more fun, and it all kind of went from there. Completely destroying enemies with all your LVL10+ maids is my favourite part of this game, but I suppose it can be made even better with some more balancing. By the way, the "Mother of All Omurice" was made to be gamebreaking on purpose just for the fun of it XD

In hindsight I did enjoy blasting thru enemies with an overpowered maid. I guess it doesn't need to be super-balanced to be a lot of fun!

It's a very easy game to play. Went through on hard difficulty using only one character, Angelica. The balance in the game is set up poorly and relies heavily on randomness.

This game is pretty fun! charming music and art!

This game has one of my favorite gameplay so far!

It's a tower defense game where enemy can shoot back at you so you gonna have to make sure your maid didn't die. it is pretty fun switching around maids to keep them alive.

Personally. I find this game pretty easy despite playing on Hard mode due to the fact that I found exploit(?) early on.

This has to do with the fact that Omurice is absolutely brokenly overpowered.

There's this mechanic where you cook up Omurice to level up a unit which is a pretty cool mechanic. although the problem is you can easily make a unit absolutely overpowered really quickly

My strategy using Angelica for example.

So every stage, the strategy was to put all of the maids in the kitchen, put down Estella and some other maid to buy some time, and after I got just 1-2 Omurice I immediately switched to putting down Angelica and then put all other maids on the field into kitchen and feeding Angelica all Omurice I had, she became overpowered by just having around level 5. after that, I just kept feeding her the Omurice that cooked later.  she will kill all enemies before even gets the chance to shoot, even if they did shoot. I can just move Angelica to avoid damage, hell I don't even need to move her. She can easily tank the damage at around level 20.  She's so powerful in fact that the boss would be deleted in a second.

all of the characters except Estella and Hanabi, given enough Omurice, can basically destroy everything including the boss in a second.

but still, this game is pretty fun, definitely one of my favorites in this Jam.

I agree that the omurice needs some balancing, especially the omurice II item. I think a combination of adding some sort of weighting to the item drops will help to mitigate this issue, and I am also planning on adding more items post jam making the omurice drops less common either way. Anyway, glad you found the game fun!

Lemme tell ya, level 13  Miria is no joke

I had a lot more fun playing this than expected! Once I forfeited my gamer pride and opted for Easy mode, I could actually progress. The loop is pretty punishing initially, but once I understood the cover system, character rotation, and how to avoid attacks, it got a lot more interesting.

On that note, I thought I should let you know about a possible exploit I found. If a character was already on the field and is dragged but never placed anywhere, enemies will still target the spot where they were. This led me to getting some easy wins if I left someone at the front of the field but kept them from taking damage in limbo.

Really though, I'm super impressed by the number of mechanics you got into this game while keeping it cohesive and interesting.

I'm also curious about your experience using Godot 4 for HTML5 exports. I use Godot as well but have heard the most recent versions don't match 3's support for web builds.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed the mechanics! As for godot, the only major problem I've encountered so far is that there's still a few input issues on the web builds, the most recent one I discovered is that the left and right triggers aren't detected on gamepad. I don't know about performance on other computers, but fps wise it does seem pretty close to the windows version on my setup.

Awesome! I appreciate the info :)
Maybe I'll try using Godot 4 next time then. I am definitely getting some fomo with the engine upgrades lol
