Neat concept. I especially liked the ending. Others have said the main issue so keep at it.
I duno if it's a bug or not but I couldn't switch after a certain point and then after the screen went black I could switch and the dialogue kept looping.
That´s a bug with the web version
cool aesthetics !
Thanks!
Fun little platformer! I'd have liked to see more puzzle elements. Games with world-switching mechanics like this (like Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams) can do a lot with puzzle elements alongside the platforming difficulty.
The biggest critique (which others have talked about) is the camera is too high relative to the player, and stays fixed on the player.
I highly recommend reading this Gamasutra article on cameras in sidescrollers. Something like the platform-snapping camera-window used in Rayman would do wonders for the issues that your camera has.
Thanks! Yeah, I agree we could have made some more puzzle elements, but sadly we didn´t have the brain nor the time to do it. The camera is being talked about a lot lol, probably will update with a more advanced camera later on (
if I can learn how to do it).Yeah, that's the biggest challenge for these jams I feel like. You spend a bunch of time just getting everything to work, and then realize you still need to build all these levels... Haha you made more than enough game to be able to make an improved camera though! I bet you can do it
Cool game guys! Reminds me of the mirror from Dishonored 2 and portal reloaded
Thanks! The game was inspired by Portal and I never played Portal Reloaded yet, but I gotta try it now.
Really awesome concept, i like the CRT effect in the old world, i like the sinister ending of never escaping, the music is decent and the pixelart is nice, great game.
Thanks a lot! The ending was rushed a bit so I´m glad you liked it.
Cool game solid concept, the areas where you have to jump on the bouncy things and switch to the retro version are near impossible lol, the constant crashing was a bit disappointing.
We are sorry for that, that's why we created the web version, it's more stable.
The use of going back and forth between time allows for some really fun platforming sections. One thing that made it a little unfair is the camera which made it hard to see what was next, but with enough trial and error I figured it out. I made it to the end, but I didnt really understand it. Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing, so good job!
Thank you! Yeah the ending was a bit rushed, but let´s say is up to the player lol. I agree that the camera was bad, we are getting loads of comments about that. Will probably upload a new version with improved camera.
That hair! haha, great pixel art and cool concept!
Oh hi, Thanks for the compliment on the pixel art, I also played your game Goat on Boat, it was really fun!
Thanks!
Clever game! Felt maybe just a hair too zoomed in for some of the sections, but not much you can do when the resolution is so small.
Yes, we are getting a few comments on the camera. We might upload a new version with different resolution and improved camera.
Nice Game having to switch from retro to not was a cool use of the theme
Thank you a lot!
Yes! Love the idea. I was notified a bit late to press Q to switch between both screens. Really fun!
Oops, that might happen. But thanks!
The gameplay is the right balance of difficulty and enjoyment. The cathodic TV mechanic reminds me a lot of Guacamelee which is a good thing!
Thanks a lot!
Nice game! The art is cool and the mechanics are fun:)
:D
I really liked this!
Having to switch between the two worlds was really fun and gratifying when I did it right.
Nice :D liked it
Thank you :D
