Great tower defense! Undoubtedly making the way of enemies with the towers is extremely unique! The visuals are really cute and I had a lot of fun testing the penguins in endless mode. Good job penguins! I loved your style, hope to see you guys at other Game Jams!

Good game, but I feel like it could use more music (But again, that's coming from the guy who doesn't know how to make music). The thing I found interesting was the fact that the enemies didn't have a set path and instead just walked to the nearest opening towards the base(s).

Overall, nice game!

Developer

Music isn't really our thing. We tried, but gave up after wasting some time on it.
In further development, it's definitely a point we will try to work on.

a very interesting take on the tower defense genre, had a lot of fun playing through the 2 levels.

oddly, i couldn't summon the penguin wizard. i wanted to see what he did :(

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!
The wizard was affected by a pricing bug (its prices were swapped with the gatling gun for some reason), which is why you couldn't place it. We just released a hotfix where that bug should be fixed, in case you want to try again ;)

Good game, nice art!

Good job on the TD :) Those are always fun :) I found it a bit too easy. Second to last tower seems to have its price off, it shows 250, but charges you 300. Good luck!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. We already wondered why sometimes we couldn't place the wizard. We thought it was a bug but it turns out he has just the wrong prize XD

Developer(+1)

Thank you, your suggestion about the price being off seems to have been correct. It turns out the gatling gun and wizard prices were swapped for some reason. We've released a hotfix with that issue fixed.

Thanks for playing Holes to Hell!

Solid tower defence game. Good work

Ooh this is so fun. This interesting how there isnt really a set path and you can go anywhere. Ended up making my own paths and I found that really fun. Cool game!

I remember playing desktop tower defence decades ago, don't see too many tower defence games like it crop up often. A next wave button and fast forward button are much appreciated for games like this, bumps the enjoyment immensely when you can cut wait times

Developer

I didn't even know this game. Both suggestion are now in our post-jam list

Thanks for playing

Really, really good! I've always loved tower defense games that allow you to play with enemy pathfinding, but can never find any, so was absolutely delighted to play this.

Nice variety of towers and enemy types, and the health sacrifice mechanic worked very nicely with tangible rewards but a big tradeoff.

Would love it if endless mode escalated the difficulty a little slower so I could really explore filling the map with towers and maximising enemies travel time.

I did try to completely block in the base - nice catch making sure I can't cheat!

It's great hearing that. We are definetely gonna try to balance the endless-mode post-jam and also add some more maps, enemies and waves.
Balancing this kind of game just took so much more time consuming than we anticipated.

Can totally imagine balancing would be challenging - you've done a great job so far! I've followed so I get updates, looking forward to playing future versions :)

You gave me complete freedom to the entire battle field, and I almost screwed up because of it
