Use of the limitation
In Praying for Rain your resources deplete constantly. You can delay your resource loss with successful sacrifices, however, villagers aren't always very good at choosing what to sacrifice themselves to. No matter what you do you will either run out of resources, or you will run out of population of villagers to sacrifice; and then it's game over.

I really like how flashy the game is: Every time you throw someone in the correct place, the effects are so cheery haha, it's great. The concept is very interesting and I had plenty of fun playing it, it's a solid entry.
The only thing I may add is that the hand is a bit slow. But nothing problematic.
I was thinking that maybe I'd be nice if we could choose instead where people would be sacrificed instead of listening to their thoughts. Then, depending on what's happening on the scenario (drought, flood, volcano about to erupt, etc) we could take diferent decisions about the sacrifices. (But don't mind my rambling haha, it's just that I pictured a resource management game within your idea and kept thinking that it'd be pretty cool)
Great job!
Love this game! But why the hand moves so slowly XD. It makes the game kind of difficult.
The concept is cool, the pinchy hand is goofy.
The art feels a bit rough but the gameplay itself works, and I like just how literal you took the prompt.
Lovely game, I had fun, cheers to my fellow Godot dev :)
nice and fun game! the artstyle is super cute and the music fits very well, congrats!
Cute art and I liked the music very much! It ran a little slow for me in browser but very fun all the same.
Cool game, I like how easy it is to pick up. The graphics are pleasant and fit your lighthearted take on the theme. I really appreciate that you took the time to add music and a help menu. The only thing that could use some tweaking in my opinion are the glove controls, maybe have the glove accelerate instead of moving at a constant speed? But overall, the game is well-polished and fun to play!
Really fun game! I really enjoyed the music and overall sound design, plus the graphics looked nice and appealing. Great work!
Congratulations, you managed to make a very fun game to play, the game is very well balanced, and that the villagers do what they want gives the game more tension, I loved it
Awesome submission, the concept fits the theme and limitation so well, only the glove was pretty slow to move but the rest I really liked.
Very solid work, if you get the time please try and rate my game.
Very cool concept! I love the use of the limitation - at first I was frustrated that villagers were plunging to their deaths but then it clicked for me that this was inevitable.
The music was absolutely great. My biggest critiques are that the hand should move faster than it does, it feels very sluggish to control. Also, it would have been nice to slow down the pace of the villagers at the beginning while I got my bearings.
Overall very cool, loved the use of theme. Nice work!
I love the concept - those poor villagers! I particularly liked the twist that I wouldn't know what a villager intended to sacrifice themselves for until I picked them up, which led to me having to kill a lot of villagers for no gain just so I could find one attempting to sacrifice themselves for the resource I was running low of.
The tiny art style and the inevitable demise of my villagers reminded me of Lemmings, which is always a plus for me :)
I'd have loved it if the pincy glove moved a little faster - particularly when sacrificing to gain food it could be frustrating waiting for the glove to catch up.
Got a final score of 35,000 :)
Hey, cool idea for this game! I loved the animations on some of the villagers. At first I was frustrated with how slow the pinchy glove moved, but I think it ended up adding to the feel of the game. Perhaps it would have been cool if you could throw the villagers as well as just drop them; it would let you take risks to try and go faster.
(Edit: I love the Godot, Aseprite, Bfxr combo - it's exactly the same that I use!)
Cool mechanics!
I like the way you present the sacrifise concept!
Keep it up ;)
Thank you !!
This was a cool game. I like how simple it is to control but yet it was stressful and fun as the counter of people was going down. for some reason it was not counting every time in the food section when I dropped people off. Maybe I didn't do something right but it was fun enough to play more then once!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you had fun :>
