I love the art and the music, my heart jumped when I got caught and absolutely loved the animation, it's super detailed.
I'm still trying to figure out the puzzle. It's super creative, and similar to Minesweeper, I understand it on paper, but am still struggling to execute it. I will be coming back to it though, I would love to be good at this game, it really deserves it.
Thank you so much for the nice feedback! I'm so glad to hear, that you even want to come back to it!
Really cool puzzle! It took me a while to understand it. I read the tutorial but hovering over the signs just went over my head as I started playing. I got to room 6 without seeing any ghost and died because of shooting at nothing!
I really liked the tense feeling the audio provides! The song is so subtle yet so tense! The shotgun sounds and the ghost jumpscare are very good too.
Visually it is very charming, the girl and the ghosts are rather cute. The animation for the ghost killing you was a surprise!
After returning to the tutorial and reading once again, I got the hang of it. Very interesting way of arranging the ghosts. Only complaint I got there was one my last runs ended because a ghost spawned RIGHT at the last tile, and I had to go up to it, there was no way to shoot that ghost. Perhaps being able to control shooting direction could solve that!
I'm probably nitpicking, but I felt the death animation could be a tad shorter. As soon as a ghost killed me I started clicking the mouse to try again and it would take a while (nice touch with the tombstone by the way!) before I could.
Congratulations on making such an interesting puzzle!
The direction you shoot in doesn't matter. I'm sorry if I didn't convey that well. I decided against an up and down sprite for the player to save time, but maybe that hasn't been a good decision. If the ghost you try to shoot is to the left or right of your position, your character does even automatically look into the correct direction, when shooting (Though there is a little bug which messes that up sometimes. Sometimes the character looks in the exactly wrong direction when shooting xd But that doesn't matter for the gameplay, the ghost will die nontheless)
Only thing that matters it that you load your shotgun before you step on a tile that will trigger a ghost.
I can see why the black screen after dying may be a bit too long. I felt like it had a good length to fit the atmosphere, but maybe I'll feel different about that in a month, haha
I'm glad you liked the tombstone scene after dying though. I added it, so the player still has the opportunity to check, why they were attacked by a ghost after all. (You can still hover the signs there)
Aside from that, thank you for all the positive feedback! I appreciate it a lot!
This puzzle is absolutely genius, i understand your concept but it's a bit confuse at first, and also i love your art style so much! Nice work!
Thank you so much!
Ahah the animation and sound freak me out the first encountered ghost :D
A well done mix of logic and suspense.
Would love to see a story in the future.
Really good Job.
Wow, this game is something else. I loved the concept and execution, good work!
Very glad I gave this a second try, got to room 13. Would like to have kept going to a theoretical end but wasn't sure if there was one.
Yeah, it's endless. The main goal is just to get as many points as possible, so it's very arcady in that regard xD
I'm very happy to hear, that you gave it a second try! Thank you so much for playing <3
great game, really like the art
Really good game, the art is great, the sounds are great, nothing really to point out but that it is really good!
Great game! Well polished and very enjoyable. Loved the spooky atmosphere and sound design.
I like this one. Confuse at first, but develops to be a good one.
Great Job !
Wow! The game is really amazing! Took me a while to understand the game, but when I got it, the game is just feel awesome to play! The game is so addicted to play (in a good way!) I can imagine this game's on mobile and I'm playing it. Really nice game!
Thank you so much for all the kind words! A friend of mine also said that the game would make good on mobile, so I'll definitely consider it
Very unique concept, very much enjoyed.
This game was super cool! The jumpscare looks amazing and really got me good the first time I saw it. I didn't fully understand how the corners worked, but I figured it out after some testing and re-reading the tutorial.
I'm so glad you liked it! I definitely did put some effort into the art. I should have used some of that time to refine the tutorial instead xd I made it last minute pretty much, but I'm happy to hear that the overall vibe of the game was enough for you to take your time and reread the tutorial ^^
Interesting concept and a spooky death animation. Dig the overall horror vibe, great game!
It was a really cool game! I love the almost minesweeper way of finding the ghosts, but is there a way to find ghosts in tiles that aren't marked by 2 runes? and if that part is purely random maybe a collectible that kills all the ghosts in an area like a bomb would be cool.
No, there are no random ghosts. That's also why I implemented that tombstone screen after each death. So you can check, why the ghost that killed you has been, where it was. (You can still hover the runes with your mouse there to check)
And so far my algorithm appeared to work accurately, so there are always exactly two runes marking the tile where a ghost appeared  So no luck included.
I'm super glad you liked the game! Thank you for playing~
The music and the death animation was really scary! But the game itself is good.
I'm glad you liked the game :) You are right, in the end I went for an a little horror-ish tone while it's still just an arcade game. It just fits weirdly well in my opinion, but it's probably not for everyone xD
Despite walking through 5 rooms checking every tile, I couldn't really seem to find any ghosts. I thought I understood where they should be, but maybe I just got unlucky with their spawns?
Possible. From a technical perspective it's not the ghosts which spawn at specific tiles but the symbols (and corners) that are randomized and dictate, where the ghosts are. So it's possible that those components just don't end up in a way, a ghost is present. Especially in the beginning, only few symbols spawn and therefore it does happen from time to time, that an empty room is reached. Having 5 empty rooms right after each other is very unlikely though.
Whatsoever, thank you for testing my game~
