cool game concept

Submitted

This game is super fun. This visuals are amazing and the game could be expanded into a naval warfare game. The cannon audio is great. very very well done!!!!!! :D

Dang I’d say out of the handful I’ve played, this one is up there for me. I’m really impressed that you were able to make a 3D game in such a short span of time, and I really like the concept. My only small issue was not knowing the exact angle I was aiming at, but it was a small issue nonetheless.

Developer(+1)

yeah aiming is a bit difficult with the pixel filter, i might wanna add some kind of crosshair. glad you liked it!

Fun little game!
I also quite like the visuals, and the music, think the boat could handle a bit better, but i really like the mechanic of having to choose which side of the boat to shoot from, altho initially i grabbed my mouse and had to go back to instructions, after a bit i quite got the hang of it!
well done!

Developer

thanks for your feedback!

I really enjoy this game! I love the pixelated filter and the reputation mechanic! it's so cool! When I reach the sandbox mode I leveled up the speed a lot and I travel across the sea!

Developer

speed go brrrr

I CHALLENGEE UUU if u win the 'rating war' I will give u [insert Item of value here], and if I win, u give me [insert item of value here].

do u accept my terms?

Developer(+2)

Why are you so fixated about amount of ratings :P

Submitted (1 edit)

I'm detecting a hint of fear.... :p

Idk really, I'm just a competitive guy, even if I have no chance of winning xD

you are 10 ratings away, if u keep slowing down, I might have a chance of 'winning' :D

I'm replaying this game cause its hella good

Developer(+1)

Amount of ratings doesnt even translate to best rating necessarily

Submitted

Well we won't know that until the end :P,

from what I've seen everyone loves both our games! :D

besides that one really critical/honest comment xD.

I liked the art style, I wanted to test the game by seeing the thumbnail! Once playing, either I'm bad or the AI is shooting a bit too well :D In the end I get quickly wrecked before destroying a ship which can be a bit frustrating. I'm not sure to clearly identify the different factions tho'.

But it's a jam right? :) nice job sailor!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Try picking out single targets at the beginning and then buy some upgrades at the harbor, should help to make it easier from there. There is only two types of enemy ships, the royal navy has a white sail and a little blue flag, and pirates have a black sail with a black flag.

Submitted

loved the game, and liked the art style. Can you play my game and tell me how it is?

Developer(+1)

Sure! Check comments ->
Thanks for playing!

Nice presentation and concept. I like the added depth with upgrades and reputation mechanic. Sometimes I had to waid quite a bit before I find enemy ships which tempted me to attack allies just to get things going.

Developer

Enemy spawning can be improved, its currently just randomly selecting what spawns, better to make it so if there are a bunch of type A shipts it prefers to spawn type B.

Submitted

Great art style and vibes. The concept was unique too :)

Developer

thanks!

Developer

You are still 15 ratings ahead :P
I don't think I will pass you, seemed to be a pretty constant gap

Submitted

Loved the art style, it reminds me of the game  WindWard , very nicely done.

The sandbox mode was really fun haha.
I think you should keep working on that game. It's unique in it's style while still simplistic and great to look at. The overall controls feel nice.

Really great game! It was a pleasure to enter the sea!

Developer

Glad you liked it :>

Fantastic, amazing how you made such a simple game loop so enjoyable. My only critique is that after getting pirate lord and being asked if i wanted to keep playing or go to sandbox and I chose keep playing, I didn't get the option to switch to sandbox after becoming king of england. Seems you have to restart in order to experience sandbox. But the gameplay, art, mechanics, and general concept were all excellent. Great job!

Developer(+1)

You are absolutely right, I should have made it a permanent button that you can press any time after beating the game to switch to sandbox

The game is really amazing and smooth! The art and graphics are also awesome! By the way, the music in the game is one of my favourite music. Nice work, well done!

Developer(+1)

Yeah the music is a banger, thanks for playing :)

(+1)

That was awesome! I love the 3D-Pixel style, it's very appealing. The gameplay is also fun and easy to grasp. It's great that you can choose sides! Grinding for money and getting stronger feels awesome. Great job!

Developer

Glad you had fun :D

Little confused about the theming, but reasonable use of the limit. J/K not exactly intuitive but oh well. Surprisingly fun though. However, I'm exceedingly mad that you took away my dreams of becoming a machine-gun-cannon-wielding pirate by limiting the upgrades. Whatever am I gonna do with my life now? :(

Developer

Yeah I mean the theme was optional after all. (I initially planned to add a "Web" themed element but I didn't have the time to add it, maybe in a later update? idk). You should try sandbox mode which unlocks after you beat the game which allows you to essentially buy unlimited upgrades for free.

Ohhhhh. Is that so? Well, probably not gonna do that, because, you know, it's a game jam game, but cool that you've thrown that in! And yea, of course it's optional, was just confusing myself by looking for it, I guess :P

Submitted

Great!!!!

felt like i was in "pirates of caribbean".Easy controls and very interesting game. And you put the correct Music.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed!

I am very impressed! This was a lot of fun! I would love to see an expanded version of this game. Could totally see this as either a casual online game or a phone game with some adjusted controls.

Developer(+1)

This is the first game jam game that I actually consider developing further, so maybe :>
