Strong concept and execution.
It took me way too long to figure out that I need to attach the little shipwreck to proceed out of the square room. :< It could be helpful if the text wasn't overlapping it.

Developer

sorry about that part, glad you liked the game though!

Awesome interpretation of the limitation and concept! This mechanic is so much fun, dang! Excellent work!

Neat game! I hope I'm not the only one a bit taken back by the fact that Godot 4's compatibility mode has absolutely no shadows lmao.

The gameplay is satisfying, a bit more variety in the size or shapes or the enemies could have been cool, like they require more hits but they do give you a bigger mass. I also feel that the rocks are kinda cheating, from the starting area you can make some long boys.

Developer

lol i was using the forward+ renderer, i haven't messed about with mobile or compatibility, though i really should since i do html5 games...

i initially didn't have shadows because i was worried about performance. but after reopening the project and seeing what it would look like with shadows, i'm gonna say i didn't do shadows because they add a lot of visual clutter that makes it harder to see things

the starting rocks were largely to teach about attaching rocks and to allow the player to kinda get a safe place where they can make different shapes- initially the game was almost impossible, so i may have gone overboard in making it easier...

Oh I am duuuumb. Jesus Christ thank you! For some reason I always had this idea that its impossible to export to HTML5 in Forward+ mode, which was a super sore point for me, being most comfortable with 3D. But now I realize the issue is the .mono support for web, not the Forward+!

The attaching objects part was really fun and interesting. It was so satisfying to swing that giant sword. The looks of the game was also perfect. A more action music would have added the cherry on top. Great Work!!

Developer(+1)

i originally wanted to make an action-y song for it, but ended up deciding i'd rather add things like better menus and controller support.

i actually made the music volume a separate slider from the sound effects volume so that if you wanted, you could mute the music and listen to something else.

i'm glad you liked it though!

Honestly a really cool interpretation of the theme. I love the mass mechanic and stacking a bunch of stuff onto your weapon is a unique idea, great job! :3

Super fun once you get the hang of the controls.

A really cool idea! I love the evolving weapon idea, fits really well with the theme - good job :D

I think it is the best game i played during this jam so far.

Well done!

I really like the concept. The use of the limitation is on point as the other peep said. Very fun assembling trash into a huge weapon and smashing stuff with it. I wish there were more stuff to smash other than those tiny missiles which are a bit annoying to deal with since the hit doesn't register sometimes when you swing. Probably has to do with the messy weapon I assembled =D

Enjoyable game and cool concept overall. Good job!

When you revealed the mechanic of attaching things to the blade, it put a smile on my face because the concept was so silly yet fun! I was not expecting the sheer number of enemies however, and the starting area looks a little dull. That being said, this concept is amazing and I can see myself coming back to this game to play in the future!
