Good game! I enjoyed it. The art looks great, and the concept is excellent. A more balanced version would make an amazing game.

Developer(+1)

I'm sure people say this all the time but I do actually intend to work on this one a bit, I think I could make something really fun with this base!

Submitted(+1)

Really, really good! Loved the game and the art/presentation in general. Also simple to learn but fun nonetheless :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for the kind words!

I don’t often see trick card games, this is fun! I like the addition of adding special cards to your deck, it feels like Balatro. I wonder if the cards you drafted should have been more powerful—“draw 3” instead of “draw 2” and so on. Nice work!

Developer

Believe it or not, there are actually more powerful cards in the game, it's just that the balance is so off you never last long enough to get offered them 🤣 thanks for playing!

Submitted

Oh! Interesting! Well, now I need to play more!

Ok, I LOVED it! It is very simple but so effective. Very well made, congrats! 2 things I nedded : some audio (it gets lonesome) and a way to see the deck and what happens to the used card (recycled or deleted) Great submission! Got to 7 customers served, and then not enough cards

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I just ran out of time, but I'm genuinely excited to work on it after the jam is done!

I like the idea. Maybe a little too rng based, I made the same mistake in my project. Overall very good work.

Developer

Oh it's way too RNG based, I just completely ran out of time to balance it. Thank you for playing it though!

very enjoyable game!

for some reason, when i choose a card at the end of each round, i don't receive it.(

i only got to the 6th round.)

Developer(+1)

It goes into your deck! You have to get lucky and draw it in the next rounds. It's a very RNG heavy game in it's current state, I apologise! Thanks for playing though! Round 6 is good :)

Nice chill game. Gives me real UNO vibes. Limitation was a big Check mark on this game, with the awesome art and buttery smooth animations. Best I got was round 6, then the cards did not fall in my favor.

Developer

Honestly Round 6 is a great score given how RNG heavy the game is right now! Thank you for the kind words :)

Love the visuals! Card animations and graphics are clean and fit well together. The shape characters are cute lol.

I was a bit rusty with trick taking style games, it’s been a while, but I was surprisingly enjoying it from the start! The special cards (draw 2 etc) are cool and add a very nice touch.

It might be nice to tie the haggling a bit more to the moment-to-moment gameplay, like maybe displaying the current item they want to buy somewhere as eye candy, for now I feel like it’s just a regular card game if you ignore the title and description.

Overall great!! Wouldn’t be surprised to see this in the top 10! Also nice work for your first Godot game, welcome to the dark side :p

PS I served 7 customers :D

Developer(+1)

I definitely had great plans to make the haggling more clear. I was going to have the shapes respond to each card with a little quirky text box depending on if you won or lost. But alas, I spent way too long polishing the hand visuals on day 1 and paid the price hahaha!

As an aside, LOVED Godot once I got the hang of sending signals back and forth between scenes with instantiated children.

I definitely know what it’s like to spend way too much time polishing haha, it was worth it cause the card hand feels super smooth

Well done!

Developer

Thanks!

Simple and fun, how jams games should be!

Apart from the obvious (sound effects and music), my only complaint is that I played a Square against a Square Customer and lost. But nothing extreamly bad

I really liked it! Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Did they have a higher value card than you? If that's the case then that's intended, their favourite shape only trumps offer non favourite suits! That's a classic trick taking mechanic

Thank you for the feedback! I am sad I couldn't get any sound done in time, I knew it'd be the main feedback I got haha

Submitted(+1)

I see! It looks like I didn't unserstand that part at first, no problem then!
Yeah... I'm on the same boat, no music or sfx because of the time haha

Very awesome game :)  I love the concept and its quite fun, the cards that serve utility are a great addition.
I do believe that there may be a bug with cards you drew in one run appearing in the subsequent run.
I managed to get to 6 served customers on my best attempts.

I don't have much to say bad other than that audio would help but you can't do everything.

Really great work :D

Developer

OH, interesting! I possibly forgot to call randomize(), I'll check it out!

6 is a really good score, the game is definitely a bit too hard at the moment. Much like the audio and theming I didn't have time to work on game balance.

Sweat and short game, great job! Loved the visuals, and the mechanics of the game. The only thing though, is you're not really shopping, just card battling. Another thing is audio, which was missing. But it's great that you included a tutorial!

GG

Developer

Yeah, sadly I ran out of time on getting audio in, it's a pity but it was that or the tutorial screen at 2am!

The concept behind it was supposed to be that you're selling items to the shapes and haggling with them using a card based discussion. In the end I just didn't have the time to get that across properly. Then again "Remember, theme is purely inspirational and not required." haha! Thanks for the comment :)

Submitted(+1)

yea I didn't really remember if the theme was required or not, but you could maybe add a sign that said shop or something :) also I know the tight deadline with audio. fortunately for me this time, I was wayy ahead of schedule even though I haven't touched Unity in a while. But I really liked the visuals and the concept, because it was really unique :) gj though
