I'd say the idea was good. But after a while playing, nothign happened that made me felt like the game was evolving, or somethng was happenng. I hoarded about a thouhsand bullets and then quit. It is a good idea, but herhaps it needs smoe more pacing, or enemy variation, to feel less monotonous. Also, audio feedback youd have made the game feel less dull. IT is a good entry for a single person though. Also, there is only one resource (blood bulletS) but since ther eis no enemy variation and enemies are so easy to kill, you have effectively infinite ammo all of the time. Good game still!

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I was originally planning to add more upgrades that would cost the same resource as you progressed + more enemies, but the time limit got to me. So a few rounds before submit time I decided to finish the core game (shooting + enemies in several waves) and call it.

All the things you pointed out are reasonable, but my time management wasn't good enough. I hope I can improve for the next jams.

Thanks for playing!

I'd recommend you learning somethign called the Scrum agile process methodology. it will help you manage projects and teams in a very simple way. Cheers!

May just be me but the web version freezes up when I click play. I did make sure to turn on 'use graphics acceleration when available' in chrome :)

Developer

It's supposed to freeze for a few a few sec to load the map, but I wonder if it varies depending on hardware.

The procedural generation aspect is neat, but if it wasn't mentioned, I wouldn't have known it was happening (until I played a 2nd time). For long load times, having a progress indicator would be helpful to indicate why the wait is occurring. The art itself looked nice and had a good theme.

Gameplaywise, having enemies move a bit faster, but also die faster might keep it a bit more engaging. I might just be a fast clicker, but I was often waiting for enemies to appear. I also found you could run into enemies to kill them at the cost of 5 ammo (but none regained after), which might be worth mentioning in the game description if it is intentional. I also found that my ammo could get into the negatives, so I wasn't actually limited by it. Might be an opportunity to consider a future mechanic for the situation when the player runs  out of ammo, but is still alive.

I like when people create such visuals out of nowhere. I mean they are so unique. I love it)

Developer(+1)

Glad you like the visuals!

Pretty interesting idea whose story I'd like to know(if there is any lore to the game).

Very nice drawing and animation of objects. Pretty simple but well working gameplay.

The feeling of a limited amount of resources with each killed monster becomes something or a little less because of the fact that to kill you need 1/4 of the bullets that you are given when killing a monster.

Lacks some kind of indicator that would indicate that I hit the enemy. Movement after the first minute begins to lose meaning because in fact you can just stand at the heart. It would also be cool to add some thematic soundtrack like a sound track or sounds (I realize that to do everything at a good level is hard, and because of the time constraints have to sacrifice something, I have so).

All in all a good game that I would like to learn both the lore and what it would turn into if you had more time!

Hey, thanks for the detailed comment.

I don't have a fully laid out story but I had several pointers when I was making it so if I ever have the time and motivation I can write it up!

I initially intended for the resource to be used in an upgrade shop as you progress, so I was very loose with the amounts given. As the time for the jam to close neared, I had to cut some ideas and that was one.

Would love to add music and sounds, but as I started late I had even less time. This version was done close to 3 hours before close time and it was 2am, so if I wanted to add more I would have had to skip sleep. :D

Thanks for the pointers though, I will address some of these issues and probably do an update with several more systems added so it feels like a proper game.

I think seeing an update where you implement all the things you didn't have time for would be cool!
