Cool concept! The game is definitely engaging and polished, though I think you could've gotten a little more creative with the art assets. If I'm not mistaking, I think I actually remember you from the GMTK Game Jam 2020 too, so good job with this game!

Cute little game, really appreciated the sound design! I liked the words/arrows being spelled out by the tiles. I did feel a bit lost in the later levels, but the lighting does make the game a bit more atmospheric. Good work.
It's cool how there is a different haunted sound when inside a guard :)
Played for about 4 floors, how many is there?
I love stealth game and I think there is not enough of it. Thanks for making one!
I have some problems with your entry though:
- when possessing a guard, the field of view becomes so limited it's close to unplayable in large levels
- you need to get close to possess, but guards find you when you're close, which leads to weird situation where I didn't know if I was going to successfully possess or get caught
- tight corridors in "stairs" shape are a pain to go through
Stealth games are awesome. Glad our game can be categorized as such ^^
We will tweak the visual range for sure. The idea was to make it more challenging, but in the end it became almost not fun to play.
I didn't had time to make it visual, but there is a 2sec window. First the guard noticing you (the ? is shown) and then after 2 sec the guard will check if he can actually see you. If so, he will become alerted (!) and will hunt you - until he can't see you anymore.
So if you are quick enough you can possess them easily
And yes, the stair-shaped corridors are not fun to traverse ^^
I love possession games! I see a lot of potential puzzle ideas for this game.
Neat concept! I find pretty rare the games with ghost as main character, and your game uses well this theme! Also, one of the strength for me, it is the controlling which is really fast to get used to.
The only things that I think that you can improve:
- I found the controls quite stiff, before playing your game I thought that the controls will be light and smooth, because we control a ghost, so for me it should feel like this.
- The music is a little annoying for me (But I think that it is surely my taste ^^")
But, overall really good work!
Thanks for your feedback. Nice to hear you liked the originality of playing as a ghost.
The controls being stiff, I agree. As a matter of fact, last night I made it way more smooth ... to be released when the voting is over ^^
And about the music, RQ is working on other styles and songs... me personally didn't think the music was annoying, it just gets stuck in your head. But yeah, that's all a matter of taste ^^
I love the mechanic of launching possessed guys around, that's a lot of fun. Good balancing, gameplay, and design. Great job!
I did manage to launch myself through a wall and out of bounds by exiting a guy right into the wall, just a heads up on that aha
Slightly buggy with the collisions but not the worst thing. The concept is solid, and the sounds and music were perfect I thought. Good game!
Fun! I like the idea of possessing guards to get through gates and the music was great. Had a few bugs (e.g. collisions shaking, guards dead body mirroring my movements in ghost form, possessed guard making explosion sound affects and not letting me move) but was still fun enough for me to get to the WINNER WINNER ETC screen :)
Glad you had fun and the fact that you saw the Winner Winner screen is proof of that ^^
Possessing guards felt great, I also had so much fun doing that ^^
And kudos for your devotion to keep playing - even with all the bugs chaising you ^^
The collision and guards that keep sticking are known bugs that I couldn't get out of the game before the jam was over. But we will continue working on it for a while - so I hope to have it polished and (most of) the bugs out of it eventually.
Enjoyable game! the core mechanics of the game were good :) only suggestion is the music got abit reptitive after a while, but thats understandable for a gamejam :P
Awesome. I'm impressed you got to beat the game, not sure many people get that far.
Glad you enjoyed your time with our game!
Funny thing is that we played with making the music more random ... but in the end (after having it all working) we decided to revert back to the regular music track ... just because that felt better. But I can see what you mean. RQ intended to make unique tracks for each level - but due to lack of time we just kept it to this one only
Slightly buggy with the collisions but not the worst thing. The concept is solid, and the sounds and music were perfect I thought. Good game!
pretty sweet, it did crash once when trying to posses while next to lots of enemies but overall it was fun, music is dope too :)
Thanks for your feedback. We dabbled with the range of the light - didn't wanted to show the whole maze too much ... but maybe we overdid it a bit. It's hard testing if you know the layout of the level yourself :P
And collisions are hard to get right sometimes ... especially with tilemaps. Maybe I should've rounded the corners or something...
