Very unique, was a little slow. The implementation was very clever. Could only ask that you make an even faster mode and add an undo button, however I felt the speed did work for the atmosphere! I liked the dialogue as well I think you did a great job.

Fantastic idea and implementation! I could only ask for an undo move button. The hint system is just enough to get me through without completely ruining the actual puzzle! Very nice, well done.

Great puzzle game, nice atmosphere. Quite a challenge, which is good. Nothing bad to say about it really.

This was a really great game and I super enjoyed it, there is so much strategy to it which makes it fun but also quite difficult. The concept is original and really good. Polish was on point too, great game!

Hi again!

I dont like puzzles at all (sorry :C). So, i will tell about other parts of the game.

Idea is really clever. And i am not about building of word, i am about building of answer.  Its amazing concept. I think if i knew english better i can pass the game, but.. :(

Music fits the game atmosphere. Its cool.

Visual is pretty good, but can be improved at all (with effects, particles etc).

And what i not liked is that i dont know how to skip text :D

Anyway nice game! I think other (who likes puzzles) people will buy this game if you will finish it :)

Have a nice day!

Wow that was an extreme mind bender for me. I shamefully admit that I was only able to complete the first and last puzzle without at least the first few hints (great hint system by the way, very helpful while still not giving away the whole solution). Very strong concept and execution; really loving all the uses for chess pieces people are coming up with. The only criticism I had was a small QOL one: It didn't seem like there was a reason for any of the pieces to have initial numbers. I would rather they all started at 0 so I could just place them on the first letter where I wanted them to start instead of having to place them on the board first, and THEN move them into position every time. There was also a little frustration with how slowly the board would reset. Great work!

This game is amazing. The atmosphere is thick and suspenseful. The writing, color choices and music all contribute to this being a very atmospheric experience. It transported me back to my youth with style befitting a classic DS title.

And I haven't even mentioned the gameplay. I am very unskilled at chess, so I found the game to be extremely difficult. My first moments of using the computer, I was very intimidated and confused. Thankfully, the game did not punish me thanks to its quick restart system. Just from experimenting for a bit, I was able to understand chess much better. After a few retries, the knight piece's movement, once feeling erratic and arbitrary, became intuitive.

The game could be improved with more player feedback on the chess computer. It's hard to keep track of the number of moves remaining on each piece, and when the letter will actually be typed. It would be nice if there was some visual and audio feedback of how many turns are remaining, punctuated with the letter that is pressed.

I would definitely pay money for an expanded version of this and I hope I have the opportunity to. Dope game.

I had a lot of fun with this one, cool concept, cool theme, cool music. Pretty unique for a chess game, and the difficulty curve was nice, I managed to win without hints for the most part.

Very original^

Biggest problem is that the difficulty spiked alot on the second level.

But hey, very challenging game and short but simple story^^

Good job.

Loved the way you used the chess pieces here. It was pretty challenging, I had to come back to beat it. An undo button would've been nice, but I understand if you left it out to add to the challenge.

Excellent work with a very creative mechanic. I only had to use the hint a couple of times, thanks for including it. Really well polished and designed, I love the orange and black, the aspect ratio and layout. Great job all round.

Yeah, It's actually pretty nice! The music fits the gameplay so well. But as everyone's saying, it gets kinda hard!

Still the concept is new to me so I had fun! The puzzles are definitely far better than the one in my game!

Very interesting mechanic but really hard to get the hang of. Good use of the assets though i don't think ive seen another space theme yet

Really cool concept, kinda hard at times.

Amazing entry and really cool game concept. I love the idea of taking the chess pieces movement to communicate with the alien and the background music is incredible as well. Over all amazing entry and very well done.

works flawlessly on my phone as well

Oh man interesting game i could see this being a mobile game, considering the aspect ratio.

Developer

Honestly the aspect ratio just came to me when I'm developing it, I might consider that if people like it enough I guess

Really cool game that I am not smart enough to beat. I wish there were undo/redo buttons, and that the animation for restarting a level was a little faster. Music choice was nice.

Developer

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind
