neat little game, sadly i also couldn’t get past the first level transition as it stayed on screen and blacked everything out. hints were quite obvious, but i assume this is down to being a tutorial level. make sure to post it again on the discord with post jam fixes for the transition so we can play it again
I love detective games! A great start. I hope you'll keep working on it! I did run into a thing that seemed like a bug on the web build. (I'm on a mac and Godot web builds don't seem to like mac all the time.) After I opened the 1st door, the left half of the screen went black for me and I couldn't see the UI. Hopefully something you can track down and fix. Thanks! :D
Pretty neat concept for a game. You know the detective is hard boiled when he called the a villain an XXX! Audio is pretty nicely done. I think if you wanted to expand on this game it's not a bad concept for a puzzle game. It's a shame what you have here is so short, but you submitted something and that is a pretty good for a game jam.
Cool teasing, I want to know what happens to them now ;) . The two tracks are cool.
Pretty cool start to the game! I like the graphics, the music fit very well, and I like how the game is dialogue-driven. Vicient is quite creepy and it made me want to know more about the backstory.
One thing that might improve the experience is allowing the buttons to reset if they are pressed in the wrong order. Currently, it feels like the game softlocks if you make a mistake, which can be a bit frustrating. Also, the P and K keys felt a bit awkward to use; maybe consider mapping the controls to something more intuitive. When I did get the order right and talked to the door, the game just faded to black, which left me a bit confused about what to do next.
Overall, you've got a solid foundation here. With a few tweaks and a bit more polish, I think this game could be really fun and satisfying to play. Keep up the great work
Cool idea. I liked the dialogue from the villain. Hopefully you can flesh it out more if you continue with this project post-jam
The track on the Main Menu was really good, I wish you’d let it keep playing for the level! Unfortunately I wasn’t super sure what the goal was, and someone commented this on the main page but yea there’s just a black box that covers the screen after the first puzzle which was disappointing cuz I wanted to see where things were going with Vincient :( Hope you keep working on this!
Sorry for that. The game has been made in a rush. Will update the game page for instructions. The origin intent is to make a puzzle game that the protag has to follow the villain's orders in order to proceed.
