Amazing game: the art, music, and gameplay are absolutely great, but what I love the most is the worldbuilding. All the concepts used, like the footwear and rats as enemies, and the naive premise, fit really well with the game's pacing and charisma.

That being said, I felt it was a little too forgiving for an NES game since I beat it without losing even once.

Thank you for this great experience!

Really nice game~
Animations are smooth and lovely, and it's super cute how all the enemies are themed around shoes/footwear.
Love the sock snakes <3
Gameplay felt very well put together, enemies were placed to provide a thoughtful approach to dealing with them, and the boss's difficulty was just at the right mark. One of those things where you feel 'oh this is gonna be real easy, and then the other one just throws a boot at exactly the right time to throw your plan of attack off, making you need to consider where both of them are lest you get bonked.
The victory lap portion of it was a nice touch, and the game getting to that point was just the right length for it to not overstay its welcome at all going through it again.
I personally wasn't huge on how slippery the main character is, just not my taste in platforming outside of context sensitive points like ice levels, but it wasn't too hard to adjust to, and the plentiful checkpoints insures it won't stop most people from completing.
Solidifying the platforms felt great and intuitive, and blasting enemies away with the wand was fun too~
Only real critique I can offer is in regards to the tiles. They could use more love, maybe some way to incorporate the theming into them as well? They just feel like a bit of a side note in an otherwise well-polished experience

Fun and pretty game ! The idea is original (I won't spoil it ;)).

This game became one of my favorites from the jam. It is very well made, and that is evident from all its elements. I loved the introductory cutscene; it shows how strong this game is visually, leaving a good impression on the player. Likewise, the sound and music are very well done. It's pleasant to have these audiovisual elements that give the game many points in its favor. Speaking of gameplay, it is extremely good. The control over the character is quite pleasant, capturing much of the movement from that era without being difficult to control and being fun. The mechanics are very well polished, and the final boss battle is very entertaining. I also like the fact that you can use the final reward with the same level we had already explored. All together, it gives a very good NES aesthetic, as it truly feels like a game from that era, and since it's a game that can be finished, it always leaves a good impression for a jam. I hope it ranks among the top spots because it truly deserves it. Congratulations.

Super cool level design, I loved the way back to the beggining, like it was a Wario Land game.

Thanks for the generous checkpoints! I had a great time with this

This was a really well made game for the time we had! There’s a lot of elements and with only a few minor bugs here and there. Gameplay was fun and the movement mechanics were really fluid. Were you imagining more powers for the wand in the future?

Very charming game with lots of polish. It's hard but not too hard, which feels very NES like to me. Super solid entry.

You excelled in creating balanced challenges for this type of game, which is always difficult. You did a great job. Well done also for the graphics and the music.

Now this is a great game. That rat king took forever for me to beat though because it took me a while to figure out the wand was only stunning him. Also those bats are going to give me nightmares. Really great aesthetics and presentation!

The cute is game and good is the presentation. The audio kinda fits the theme.

Too bad the flying boots are really OP in traveling back to the picnic.

Great work! very cute and the perfect length, love the twist at the end aswell

Great work! Good difficulty level, great tunes, and feels authentic. Love the twist at the end. And the respawn animation is a really cool touch.

Amazing polish, vibe with the aesthetic, music and animations. Perfect game jam difficulty. Fantastic work!

Very charming music! Overall cool gameplay but the camera felt slightly jittery to me, I think it was because there's a little bit of slipperiness on the tiles? The animations are all really smooth and nice, especially the rat king. I love the tiny rat dropping bomb boots from the ceiling. Nice  submission!

Sweet animations, especially when you tumble off the edge, haha

I HATE THAT RAT KING kkkkkkkkkkk What a good game! I had a lot of fun and when I stepped on the first rat and saw the white flag I genuinely let out a laugh kkkkkkk Game very well polished, very cool effect on the camera and fun gameplay, my only critique is you didn't let me knock that damn rat off the ceiling even with the boot kkkkkk

Interesting choice of a slippering platformer. Nice use of the CRT filter. The gameplay is fun and challenging. The graphic is good even some of the platformer tiles are ugly. However the game is too easy with a checkpoint every 10 meters and an infinite live.

This was awesome from start to finished. Everything felt extremely polished.

The art-style was really cool and I really liked the opening/closing CGs.

Ecaroh's animation sets were really good and really well thought out.

The save points were implemented really well and the death transition/camera panning looked great.

It took me a minute to figure out the boss. I didn't realize at first that the wand attack only stunlocked him.

My biggest critique is that, even with the boots, I was unable able to deliver sweet justice to that one smug rat on the ceiling.

This game was super good! if it wasn't for the infinite lives, i would not have beaten that boss, but it was a fun experience. Great job
