Totally drew me into the world. Loved the whole build up and then to deliver that last line...👌

Dang. An inspiring tragedy. Well worded. Well done.

Great story that flowed well and was very easy to follow, not always easy in  1000 words.

PS:  Not a criticism, but I think Yavan-4 might be a little too on the nose for some of us Star Wars nerds.

I got a real feel for the desperation and frustration of the characters!

(As for the OPR canon, I think your story could easily fit into the universe. I'd just say the Inquisition isn't as powerful and authoritative, but that doesn't mean there's no case in which an Inquisitor might have managed to secure the authority, through bribery or extortion, to command some Battle Brothers in a certain instance. So it's not impossible for an Inquisitor to command Battle Brothers - it's just something you'd have to spell out if you were going to expand the story.)

Thanks! - I did try to somewhat imply that when I had the Tech-Brother mention the fact that they were not bound by an Inquisitors words, and tried to imply that the call was on the Captain, but I fell short on making that clear.

I echo the sentiments of SupNerds. The title itself is very clever, and your story left me wanting to know more about the Azuren Blades and how they ended up in this last suicidal blaze of glory, but the work itself is presented in a way that echos more 40k than the world of Grimdark Future. This is especially felt in how the inquisition is handled in your story, acting more as an authoritative unit instead of the more secretive and decentralized band of vigilantes that OPR has built them as.

I'm very new to OPR, having only recently (as in like the last 3 months) started to convert over to it. I did furiously google the lore to the best of my ability in a limited time, but alas, it was not a perfect execution.

An action-packed yarn!

Nothing beats a good, old fashioned drop assault on some bugs.

What a perfect title! It definitely got a grin out of me. Your story flowed well and I definitely enjoyed reading it, but I was looking for just a little more to make it clear that this was a Grimdark Future story and not just a Warhammer 40K story with some names changed.
