Description
I imagine this track could be in an opening, end title, or maybe for a cut scene for a narrative game. The storyline I kind of imagined is already in the lyrics, and it's heavily inspired by the themes.

I used good ol' Garageband... on the ipad again because I'm still a dummy. I tried my hands on Reaper but I still can't get a hold of it, it's just not as convenient.

Some inspirations were drawn from Spiritfarer. Vocals are by bearwhy bearbye (totoally a different person). Cover is drawn by my best friend.

Lyrics:

I’ve waited, all my life
Waited for this day
The stars, they’re all aligned

And today, is the day that I will see
Everything that hides beneath the stars and the sea

I will do whatever it takes
Even if it means eternity
I just want to see you again
Perhaps one last time tonight

I’ll travel the skies
I’ll travel the seas
I’ll travel the worlds
Just to see you again
Again, again
One last time tonight

The stars are all aligned
And the moon is shining bright
I wish upon a star
I wish upon a star
That we will find our light

The light that shines whenever we’re losing our faith
When everything is looking, everything is looking so dark, all around

This light will guide us through
The darkness in our lives
So we can get back up
We can back get back up again
And watch the world move

I’m standing here alone
I’ve never felt this way before
I feel the goosebumps climbing up my skin
Tears rolling down from my cheeks to chin

As I watch the skies fall upon my eyes
All my hopes and dreams are floating away
My heart and soul has never been so weak

I’ll travel the skies
I’ll travel the seas
I’ll travel the worlds
Just to see you again
Again, again
One last time tonight

The stars are all aligned
And the moon is shining bright
I wish upon a star
I wish upon a star
That we will find our light

The light that shines whenever we’re losing our faith
When everything is looking, looking so dark, all around

I wish you could be here with me tonight

Message from the artist:
I had a huge creative blockage with this one, I didn't really get anything done (or started) in the first few days, I just didn't like anything I was coming up with and I felt so... drained. Ultimately, what you're hearing here is mostly done in the last 3 days of the jam, and I almost didn't submit in time.

Before the jam started, I thought I could do a lot more, perhaps like 6 or 7 tracks. I really wanted to do something like I did before in my submission to OST Composing Jam #2, as that is still what I considered my proudest work and nothing really tops that yet, and I feel like I'm getting worse and worse with my music thing. But yeah, I dunno.

Merry Christmas all!

Aaawww This one is so sweet and lovely
The lyrics are right on the nose with the theme while being very sweet and cute

I absolutely get you in the challenge with dealing with creative block. Sometimes it feels like that's how things are going to be, or that we've lost our touch in creating because it takes a moments longer for us to put our feet down to make a step in the direction that we're looking for, but I assure you it doesn't stay, it's seasonal, and the creativity and the natural wave to create block-free will always come back, just as returning as the waves of the sea, and as sure as the twinkle of a wishing star

The creative block didn't stop you from making something this lovely and that in itself is something to be proud about :D

Lovely song!  Obviously lyrics are kind of rare within the scope of this jam so it's a nice breath of fresh air to hear something like this.  The melodies in this are super cute as well!  That happy and nostalgic chord progression combined with the bounciness of the melodies makes for an especially cheery yet relaxing sort of vibe, very much akin to the mood of the character in the cover photo.  Great stuff!

I agree that this would work very well as an ending credit song - it has such happy vibes! The lyrics are very well-written which is very impressive. At the beginning at the lyrics “the stars, they’re all aligned”, the word “they’re” lands on the #4th to give a lydian flavor which adds to the star theme - I loved that! Thank you for sharing!

Aww! This put a smile on my face from the beginning. Nice job with the vocals and instrumentation. And thanks for this Jam, really awesome to have this community!

This is so catchy and cute. Love the vocals, the lyrics really help strengthen the connection to the wish theme. Great work!

Definitely a cute song. Reminds me of the hidden tracks one might find on 90's alternative albums. Adding lyrics in this venue is a brave endeavor!

There is a quality to your voice (I'm assuming it's your voice 👀) that made this whole soundtrack elevate. I honestly had shivers listening to this. It was super intimate, very hopeful yet melancholic and the lyrics went super well with the instrumentation underneath that was bringing energy just at the right moments! This was a great entry!

Wow, good job ! This was really nice to listen too

Merry christmas, and don't worry if you feel in a slump, I think we all go through that and it will get better :)

This is very cute! If you were to make a non-lyrics version of the same theme, that would work well as a "main theme" for a game, and this could work as the ending song.

Great work on this, I like the story you told with the lyrics. It's a very joyful and fun track!

The singing was a pleasant surprise! It wasn't really what I expected and added a lot to the feel of the song. As someone else said it has strong ending credits vibes. Good job!

Nice song definitely an opening cut imo. The singing was a nice surprise and although the sweet vibe doesn't quite resonate with me I think its well made. Great job!

And about your musical slump, while I'm not anybody to give you a grand uplifting speech I just wanna say comparison is the thief of joy, I think you've still got it.

I like the perky feel! I definitely imagine this song playing over an opening cutscene to something, it gives a nice first impression of joy with a mix of wistfulness or something bittersweet.

(Also I feel you with the Reaper thing, every other DAW I've tried has been far too overwhelming so I end up just sticking with Garageband)

Merry Christmas to you too :)

I like how the track starts bouncing at about 55 seconds! It gives a feeling of joyful emotions with the synth sound explicitly being 'starish'.

I didn't imagine that in game but as you said it could be a good cut scene. Actually it gave me a strong feeling of end game/credits like song which would be like a happy resolution of the story/game!

I couldn't really catch all the lyrics (not English native) so I might have missed something but this was what it made me see :)

Gret job and thank you for the original take on the theme!
