Description
Acoustic guitar and singing, this song is for a 2D platformer set in someone's mind, where they have to escape their dream and get back to reality to save themselves, jumping over obstacles that act as mental hurdles in that person's life. This song would play at the end. I record with a pretty basic setup into Cool Edit Pro with a cheap mic and guitar. Song was written in my head during the process just sitting there with the guitar.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
The song deals with time running out while the player still has things to do in the game, and obstacles to overcome. The clock is ticking in reality while they are stuck in their dreamworld with a different concept of time.

this was super nice

Acoustic guitar is rarely as cleanly rendered as it is here, which was most welcome. I love the tone of a clean guitar and it was nice to have to contrasted against a voice. Unlike Neatneet, I am a native English speaker, but I still struggled a bit with the lyrics :) I don't think it mattered much to the final product, as your tone and intention still came through. I think it'd be interesting to hear either an overdub or harmony with an additional guitar/voice layered in.

Unfortunately not too proficient in English so can only make out a few words of the lyrics but I can still sense the song was beautiful. I listen to songs like this all the time, I'd be able to hum the melodies but the lyrics in my head are like "belahthwakwalgoogalabala..."

This would be awesome as a final-level song as the mc is about to wake up. And, no joke, if the entire story had been good up to this point, I'd legit cry. Your playing and tone of voice were very touching.

Random but the plot reminds me of the Deep Sleep trilogy flash games. (scary af but beautiful story.)

I can see this as an ending to a game. Well done.

Very touching song. It does definitively fit your description and both your singing and guitar play sound very nice. The cover art does also fit the entry perfectly. While I like the idea of the interlude picking sequence, I would change the part from 2:12 - 2:20. This part is a bit too fast and 'harsh' in tone for the dream like idea.
