Description
writing this 10 mins before deadline i am a bit stressed ahfdadkj i forgot that theres a writing part
ok so i started by very literally interpreting the theme and just making a "tick tock" metronome type sound, which plays throughout the whole track. then i made the arpeggio thing that plays throughout most of the track (altho by "made" i mean i just had the computer randomized midi in c minor harmonic lol). there wasnt any specific process, i just kept adding whatever i felt was right
i imagine the game to be somekinda platformer that also is dependent on thr rythm of the soundtrack. maybe like the cassette levels in celeste? like the b-sides or whatever with the shifting platforms. setting would be some kinda fallen kingdom (like hollow knight? but with more sci-fi and machinery stuff) where most of it is in ruins. based on the picture theme i imagine it having various hourglass structures and clocks ticking, machinery still working long after the inhabitants of the kingdom r dead.
everything was made in fl studio 21
hope u like :)
Theme:

Your FL Theme looks slick! The music is amazing, I'm a huge ambient fanatic and this is just my cup of tea! It would create an amazing atmosphere in an actual game!
ty lol i glad u like my fl theme and music
I really like how you really take the time to set the mood in your track. I interpreted it as something a bit outer-worldy, mysterious, with a hint of an ominous setting while still being soothing and serene. That last part reminded me in particular of the swells in the soundtrack from "Hyper Light Breaker". Really nice job overall!
im glad u got that impression, thanks for listening :) im very inspired by the hyper light drifter sound track so that makes sense. is the hyper light breaker sound track is already out? i thought the game wasnt out yet lol
I meant "Drifter" oopsy ^^But yeah can't wait for Hyper Light Breaker too! Although it's not from the same composer so I have my reserves
The percussive ticking sets the tone that it is about time, but doesn’t necessarily sound like a clock I’ve heard - which is a cool effect. I like the world-creating sound effects throughout. I am definitely imagining a cave deep underground with all the echoes and the drop-like effects. There is a really beautiful somber feeling at the end when the ticking goes way into the background. I really like those chord swells that emerge! Then the ticking sounds like it walks right up to you! This is a creative ambient track that would fit the kind of world you are imagining. Good work and thank you for sharing!
ty for ur feedback !
Very cool ethereal ambient vibe going on here. Mysterious and intriguing, definitely could see it fitting into the setting you've describe!
yay ty
1 MINUTE AND 44 SECONDS BEFORE THE DEADLINE!? Wow, really taking the theme to the next level, I applaud the commitment. The delay on the percussion is CLEAN AF, interested to know what you used to achieve that sound. Tons of interesting ear candies, I especially liked the old tv-like high pitch ringing one. If this isn't a perfect time-related background music for a game, then it must be close definitely!
yea lmao i was adding stuff to it last minute :)) there r 2 delays on the tick tock sound, one being the stock fl plugin fruity delay 3 with a ping pong delay which is the main echo and the other being lagrange which is a pretty interesting granular delay plugin (at least thats what it calls itself) that add more detailed echoes to the main echoes. u can make some pretty crazy sounds with lagrange so u should check it out (its free ). im glad u liked the track!
thx for reccomending. im always down for wacky free plugins.
It sounds so so cool! And so unique too! The compositional structure to this is very interesting and engaging. It never feels like it gets boring or static. The mood shifts throughout are nicely done as well, but it doesn't feel like it looses momentum either. Very very nicely done!!
ty, im glad it was unique
I really like the ambiance of this one, the vibe of the track and the story you gave it reminds me of Stray, with the little cat wandering through the apocalyptic city. Really cool!
ty!
I like that! No boring parts, no conspicuous repetitions, just well done track! Well done!
thank youu
The delay effects made me think of the city as being underground, like the City of Tears in Hollow Knight. The ambient swells at the end really sold it for me and reminded me of Disasterpeace's Hyper Light Drifter OST. Great job and congrats on submitting in time! ^^
oo yea i can definitely understand the underground feeling. thats kinda what i was imagining actually, but less fantasy like hollow knight and more scifi like nier automata.
and !! i love the hld ost ; disasterpeace has made some great music. the hld ost has been a big influence for me especially since i dont play games or listen to ost's that much. sometimes im afraid my ost type music sounds too similar to it stylistically tbh, but im glad it reminded u of my fav ost :))
Really like the ambient soundscape of this - to me it feels like some small creature or hero exploring the world, be it nature or some man made buildings - but definately in an after the apocalypse-setting. Kind of Wall-E feeling perhaps. Would really like to walk around in the world Your soundscape paints for me - great job!
ty! the post apocalyptic vibe is definitely what i was going for so im glad u got that just from the sound of the track
Cool; I enjoyed the bit at the end with the switch to adagio, made me curious to explore what else that sonic landscape could bring. Thanks for submitting!
ty for listening :)
