Description
Dance Metal and Synthwave

I composed each track using Ableton Live 11, for this album I decided to bust out my guitar and tune it C-Standard for an extra heavy doom element.
Comet Crashin!

A fictional VR Arcade Dancing game where you are at the world's last dance party -- Tons of people have shown up to watch the world's best dancers face off and be humanity's last best dancers as a Comet is about to crash in earth in an hour.

Intro - When you start the game, you'll recieve a tutorial on how to dance, this track loops until you get a good score -- the comet can be seen in the sky if you look up -- the narrator tells you not to worry about it.

The Sky is Falling - The comet gets closer and you have your first dance off against Seamus Dart -- An expert irish retro dancer -- this level features a large crowd watching as you dance against Seamus with ferocity. The comet gets just a little bit closer.

It Was in the News - After each level we zoom in to the comet as it travels down, and show a counter at the bottom that's ticking down to 0 -- when the comet impacts, during this scene the score from the game is tallied and you are given a rank.

It's Not Alright, But That's Alright - After a short speech from Aunt Jess about the importance of dancing in humanitie's culture, the organizer of the Dance Compettition herself throws in her unique dance moves to defend her title. The comet is getting closer...

Gravity - The comet gets even closer as the sun begins setting for the final time. People are lighting off fire works as Sheila Price the worlds first Cyborg Dancer, and President of Mexico Challenges you to an incredible dance of featuring some of the hardest combos you have to execute in the game.

There's The Comet That's Gonna Kill Us All! -- A great flame in the sky appears! It's the comet that's gonna kill us all -- Feverish group dancing begins and you are challenged by Dr. Bobo Dankson who's dance moves are not only genius, but the popping and locking style can simply not be competed with!

Here It Comes! -- Now the earth shakes as the comet is about to strike -- Now it's a dance free for all, and the true winner will know it in their heart. As the song reaches it's end -- the comet strikes and the game ends - If you got a high score on this level and have defeated all the other dancers you are posthumously declared Humanity's best dancer and a message says "No one will ever have moves like you again." -- otherwise, a short message says "Deep down, we're all the best dancer." and you are returned to the title screen.

With "Comet Crashin'," you'll not only experience a thrilling VR dancing adventure but also cherish the spirit of dance that lives on forever, even in the face of impending doom. Will you seize this last chance to prove that dance is an eternal legacy of humanity, transcending even the boundaries of time and space?

Prepare to dance your heart out and make history in the world's last dance party! Humanity's dance legacy rests in your capable feet. Let's show the cosmos what it means to dance like there's no tomorrow!

Message from the artist:
I had a lot of fun writing this album :D

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
There's a sense of impending doom as the comet lurches onward, throughout the game, a clock shows how much time is left before the comet hits the earth.

You have my respect for that groovy riff in the second track, and the other tracks are nice too. Good work!

Both the music and the game's concept are very cool. Nice work!

This is such a cool idea! I would 100% play and fail at this game. You did a great job of slowly building the intensity progressively through each track,. Yet, even as that intensity builds and the comet gets closer, there is still a prevailing feeling of "it's whatever, let's just dance."

Overall, this soundtrack is so much fun, I bet you had a blast making it! Great work!

Such a fun concept which you pulled off with finesse! Your music tracks are all bops, ramping up the tension with each song until it ends with a literal bang! Your incorporation of the "tick tock" theme is pervasive yet seamlessly woven in. Thoroughly enjoyed this entry - skillfully done.

The Last Dance Off: This is such a great dance track! I especially like the pulsing high synth. The guitars are really great soaring over the syncopated and pounding bassline. This is probably my favorite of all your tracks.

The Sky Is Falling: I like the rhythmic variation throughout. The drum that is pounding out 16th notes is my favorite.

It Was In the News: This is a good results theme as it gives a slower tempo and a little bit of a break between the high intensity dance numbers.

It’s Not Alright, But That’s Alright: The bass line and the high lick is really catchy. I was humming this one long after it ended.

Gravity: The intensity is kicking up a notch! I imagine some pretty sick robot dance moves happening to this song.

There’s the Comet That’s Going to Kill Us All!: The bass-heavy track gives a sense of impending doom, great for your penultimate track.

Here It Comes!: The emphasis of the tonic note in the bass gives this track a lot of forward momentum. The phrygian/harmonic minor melody gives an exotic and dangerous sense to this track making it a great climax. Very well done overall! Thank you for sharing!

I really like the in depth game idea and the cover for this, plus the fact that it's play in browser it really cool. The vibes are so cool and I love the heavy 8-bit sounds in some of them. Really cool tracks!

Wow impressive great idea, i really like the mix with the bass, guitar and the synth, for me it could fit perfect on a video game. Great job!!

In this scenario, it's hard to tell if I would be on the side of the dancing people or the comet to be honest. Either way, this is a really solid entry with unique sounding electronic tracks. Particular faves are 'There's The Comet That's Gonna Kill Us All!' and 'Here It Comes'.

A cool dance track right from the start, those are some great guitars. I could easily hear these tracks fitting in a dance game. It's Not Alright is my favorite, killer groove and the guitars and cool synths bring it up even further. You've made one really cool soundtrack here. Gravity kind of reminds me of the Risk of Rain OST.  Great work!

OMG the synth leads and gritty guitar tones blend so well together! "It's Not Alright, But That's Alright" is my favorite. Well done!

Awesome sounds and a very unique idea. I would love to see the game implemented or maybe added in an arcade dancing machine. To balance the awesome music some points to adapt on. Even though all peaces hold up for themself, it would be cool to have some linking music. Something of the loop tying all parts together. I think track 3. is a bit underdeveloped compared to the others and similar to track 5., which could escalate faster you could halve the number of repeats. While I like track 7. the most regardless of the slow start (very impressive build up), it's quite different to the other tracks. Can't really tell why, but I guess it's the relative lack of the guitar? Or the increased speed? Regardless, I'm very impressed by the depth and width and amount of music. Keep rocking!!!
