Description
It's techno with some orchestral elements. I imagine this would fit an FPS or a strategy game where we are on a mission against the clock. I used LMMS, some samples from Spitfire LABS and some synths I made as well as some samples from İZotope BreakTweaker

Message from the artist:
I hope you like it :] Feel free to comment on itch.io or YouTube, I'll try to read and reply every feedback.

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
The music is fit for a scene where racing against time. I used some pizzicato strings, which when layered with the bass, sounds like a ticking clock. Track gradually becomes darker and more intense as the time ticks away, ending with a dark atmospheric tune. Tho In a game, I imagine the ending would only play if you fail to complete your mission in time.

Very nice orchestration with dancable rhythm... and ominous piano chords at the end is nice touch. Good work.

Thanks!

The genre description of dark techno combined with orchestra is actually quite apt - I’m impressed because I couldn’t quite imagine what I was going to hear before I hit play. My favorite moment is at 1:31 when the strings are pulsing out the melody while the bass pulses on the offbeats and the heavy techno kick lays down thick downbeats. The mallet instruments seem to be adding to the tension as we progress forward. I really like the ending and the idea that it only plays under the lose condition. Good work and thank you for sharing!

Developer

Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!

Cool! I like how you let the track become dissonant when it needs to. It helps to make the atmosphere really tense.

I also like the way you build up the intensity throughout the track, and get to the ending that isn't intense, but is VERY tense. It completely delivers on the feeling of almost shitting your pants out of fear lol.

Nice submission!

Glad you felt the atmosphere I was going for, and thank you!

Really nice! I can imagine this being in a tactical fps, some anti terrorist unit running against the clock.

Developer

Definitely what I was going for, thanks!

Oooh, this is mysterious and urgent I like it! I quite enjoy the more classical angle when it comes to melodic instruments combined with something similar to a trap/hip-hop arrangement of percussions. Although IMO the latter won't necessarily fit the SWAT aesthetic (I just saw it from the visualizer on Youtube haha) but would definitely fit a tactical FPS game for sure.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I was loosely inspired by the soundtrack of Ready or Not so I decided to go for full on SWAT theme for the thumbnail :]

The track definitely reads "Time Sensitive". I do like the little ticking effect that emerges with the unison bass and pizz strings. I'm also enjoying the choice of minor 9ths resolving to the octave, it's one of my favorite cadences and it works well here.

Developer

I didn't want to use a clock ticking as I figured everyone else would be using it so I decided to go creative, glad it worked out well! And glad you like it, thanks!

The mix is very well done! Really good use of samples. The balance of everything overall is very nice as well. If you ever remix it, you might be able to afford to bring out the more melodic bits with the strings and the piano just a bit because there's some great stuff going on with them, but overall super good. Definitely evokes a certain level of urgency. I also dig a good orchestral/tech crossover, so this is very fun! Great track!

Developer

I didn't want to go too melodic to keep the track more ambient, but I can't keep myself from including a melody once I come up with it intentionally or not :] Glad you liked the crossover, because I really like making them, thanks!

Dark Techno and Orchestral are a good vibe and it sets a "race against time" vibe. Nice execution.

Developer

I really like mashing up genres, especially orchestra and electronic music, glad it worked out well, thanks!
