Description
Rhythm Bullet Hell. It's exactly what it says on the tin.

This is another concept for a game that doesn't and probably never will exist. The player moves in sync with the big drum at the heart of the piece, and fires projectiles in sync with the snares. Every other sound is linked to projectile generation.

Not quite as much storytelling here as in previous OST jams, I'll admit, but the challenge I gave myself was to just keep adding beats and I pulled that off! I hope you enjoy it.

Message from the artist:
Had a lot of fun with this one, I hope y'all enjoy it!

Theme:

Tick Tock...

How does it fit the theme?
The constant pulse of the drum at the heart of the piece is reminiscent of a ticking clock, representing the inexorable flow of time.

Awesome! The track bops like a bop, everything sounds great both production and composition-wise, and this is just straight-up fun!

I like how you kinda have like 3 separate pieces here, that you connected together. It feels like we're moving in different phases of the level or something, and it keeps the entire thing interesting!

Very cool!

Feels like a fall into abyss of despair with no way of saving. Multiple instruments play desperation-filled melodies, while drums and percussion keep doing the same over and over, creating a feeling that this actually is abyss that no one can leave. Very nice, but gets a bit repetitive in my opinion.

Bro this SLAPS! The change at two minutes surprised me and I very quickly fell in love with it, the shift definitely caught my attention for the rest of the track. I was so invested! Whatever chiptune sound you used, it’s perfect. Kind of reminded me of a few tracks from Portal 2. Excellent work!

That tempo change at 2:00 was STANK FACE-WORTHY. I'm digging the darker theme from this one. Also really appreciate all the ear candies in the percussions too.

I remember hearing this in devlog and loving that kick sound. I really like your concept for the game, gives me strong cadence of hyrule vibes (love that game but I'm so bad at it lol).

Really cool concept and execution! It was neat listening to the music's constant evolution - nicely done!

Very creative idea! The sound design of the drum is spot on and the melodies and voice lines perfectly complement this inexorable feeling throughout the track. I could absolutely imagine this in a rhythm bullet hell type game, so great job!

The idea of syncing the music to the generation of elements in the game is really creative and I would love to see that happen, especially with the constantly changing time signatures and tempos that you’ve written! My favorite parts of this are the mechanical sound effects you used throughout that help keep the beat, as well as the big grindy bass, especially when it is dissonant with the overlying layers. This is a really cool entry! Great work and thank you for sharing!

This is super cool! I love how well the music aligns with its "gameplay" function, and the beat switches up just enough to keep things fresh.

Really interesting concept for a game. Soundtrack goes through good number of variations to keep things interesting.

I love it! it keeps on changing and changing and it never gets boring. Impression here is amazing!

I like how hard this slaps, especially after the first couple minutes. There's a really clear sense of space here and the game description you've provided dovetails perfectly into the work itself. Speeding up toward the end felt really right given the game this is supposed to be in.

Wow this is super oppressive, the beat switch up at 2:00 is sooo sick. The way the time signature keeps changing is awesome. Great job!
