Description
I used Fl Studio to compose both of the songs. I guess the first track would be like an intro to the game, maybe the title screen. The second track would definitely be like a boss fight or action sequence.

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The image theme made me think of the girl dreaming about playing with her mother who had passed away. The second song follows this idea, but she would be struggling with keeping her fantasy going as the reality creeps in. I wanted to make a third song about her blaming herself for what happened but it's quite late so I'm just submitting this. I will still make the third song for my Bandcamp though. The text theme was more of the listeners entering my world of music, so I wanted to make something that was quite unique to what I do.

You should def make that Lucid Nightmares Remix a submission lmao that one goes hard AF. Really nice and coherent soundtrack. Appreciate that you posted the unfinished ones as well, was cool to see the original idea before they got developed.

You're Still Dreaming - This is, uh. I can definitely feel the dreamy beach vibe.

Lucid Nightmares - Is that a fight underwater? Damn, I love that percussion! And that buildup of “beats” towards the end of the song is pretty good.

P.S. I listened to the rest of the tracks.... and I like them too! Especially the remix of Lucid Nightmares

"Lucid Nightmares" was my favorite track ^_^

Good Job!

This is a thoughtful concept, you blended the music and storytelling beautifully.

I like how it sounds like ost from SNES/Sega MD era games. Vocals in "demise"  just make it more unique!!

Very nice marimba!

Best instrument if there ever was one!

Very high energy across both of those, the first one reminded me as lot of undertale while the second reminded me a bit more of N64 era games, id honestly be really interested to know your inspirations for these because it felt like you had a really defined voice going into this and executed it very well. I do agree with slaw though, would love to hear more percussion in Lucid Nightmares!!

Honestly, this comment amazes me because I didn't know what I was doing at all!! 😅 I literally just started throwing stuff together in both of the songs, but I do think Lucid Nightmares is subconsciously based on Hollow Knight. I really just went in blind using the theme as a guide which led me to the dreamy aspect I wanted to keep within each song, but I think I only really showed that off in You're Still Dreaming. I was actually so close to quitting this Jam since I was having trouble representing what I thought of the theme. Especially since Lucid Nightmares didn't really come out how I wanted it to but I still like the song.

Also, I'll try adding percussion to Lucid Nightmares and post it as an Extra on Bandcamp!

Im really glad you still made a submission! I hope this has ultimately been a good experience for you.

I liked the somewhat off ending of the first track, conveys the dreamy vibe in an interesting way :)

Fun listen!

"You're Still Dreaming" was great, but I think the bass-line could use some more variation. Loved the vibrato in the lead. "Lucid Nightmares" is screaming for some percussion to cap off such an energetic piece (some come in at the end but I think the whole piece could use it). The other tracks that weren't part of the submission were good, too. Nice job!

I loved the combination of these NES-like 8 bit sounds with some more real but still retro sounding instruments. The time signature changes were really creative and I don't know why, but there's something about how you used the dulcimer I really liked. Solid retro sounding soundtrack

The retro game style instantly captured my attention. I love composers who write like this. Great work, and good luck!

Nice retro vibes! Your composition in particular really drew me in, especially in Lucid Nightmare - the string writing and overall structure of that track is brilliant. Great work!

I liked the overall vibe! it fit with the theme pretty well, and i loved the instrumentation! overall a nice showing!
