Cool, really intense track. Even though I really liked all the effects, I felt that some of the effects and the snare are really loud in really high frequencies, so when I lowered the volume to the point where these effects had comfortable loudness, other parts of the music were a bit too quiet. You can hear this especially well at the very beginning of the track where there's a really loud effect or a precussive sound in the >4000Hz range and I feel like some elements might be over-compressed.

Also this track has some quite repetitive parts, but it's not that big of a deal, because you're introducing new sounds and effects from time to time which keeps the track fresh. Despite all the criticism, I really liked the track, it reminded me of some old PS1 games like Tekken 3 and Fighting Force

Lost To Time is probably my favourite. I love the intro and really like the switch up to these "falling" synths somewhere at 1:50. Nuts And Bolts starts really unique with some weird, interesting sounds and keeps that unique, interesting vibe throughout. Spirited is a really nice high energy track, but there's a lot of stuff going on and sometimes I fell that all the sounds being really gritty try to compete with each other a bit and I agree with others that the mixing could be worked on a little, but I really enjoyed my time listening to these tracks!

I always love the use of unusual time signatures and combined with that glichiness, it makes the track really unique. Great work!

What a great track. There's so many different interesting elements, I love the precussion and all the different instruments, they seem very chaotic, but cohesive at the same time. I never played Fusionfall, but this track fits so well for a final boss theme, I would really want to see it with some game footage

Really unique OST, I found it really interesting that you went with a horror game. I really liked when in Crossroads at 1:25 the strings fully come in and there's a little choir/vocal sound, it's such a shame that it ends so shortly after it, because I felt that the track would really benefit if you continued that idea, but it was great nonetheless. I also really enjoyed Real (no pun intended). The overall atmosphere was awesome and it was a great listen

Really enjoyed both the soundtrack and the story. I really liked Bubble Reef, it's a nice small mood change

Awesome soundtrack! It was really emotional. I loved the use of water sound effects, it really helps to ground the music inside the story. Resurface was probably my favourite. The only criticism I have is like someone else already pointed out, there are many ostinatos used throughout the tracks that can get a bit repetitive in a game, but still it's an incredible OST

What a cute little soundtrack and game concept. I loved the story. I really liked the use of call and response with different instruments in some tracks. Nonstopped Unpopped was great and I really liked Octo-Popper Supreme, but I think it could be a bit more dynamic and intense for final boss theme. Actually the beginning of this track was really good and just the right amount of intensity, and I wish it was kept like that or at least returned later in the track to a similar level of intensity

Beautiful mix of orchestral music with some electronic sounds. The beginning of Quantus DT83 reminds me of the save room theme from the first Resident Evil game and also when the choir at 0:20 comes in it somehow reminded me of the Tomb Raider games from the PSX era. I really felt the sense of adventure

Really beautiful soundtrack, really dream-like, but I also felt a strong sense of an adventure. I loved the flute. The orchestration was really good and the melodies that were set up by the first track were very pleasant and memorable. There's only one thing that I'd like to point out. While Happy Limbo is another beautiful track I feel that the ostinato the track starts with gets a bit repetitive over time and might get a bit tireing especially if played in a game in a loop. Other than that everything was perfect. It's a shame you didn't manage to compose more of the OST, because I would really like to listen to the rest

Really beautiful track, calm and very relaxing

Cool tracks, but they were quite long and I felt that sometimes there some long periods of time without any change. There were some really interesting ideas, but some parts felt drawn-out and I think that drum sounds could be better quality. Blinded By Kindness was taking a bit long to get going, but I really liked when at 2:30 the drums started to go a bit harder, liked the groove and felt that the track started going somewhere and it actually started to get interesting. I really liked the thing (whatever this is) that plays at the very beginning of Knocking Down Heavens Door With Menace, liked the piano chords and the groove of the drums, that tracks sounds so weird, but at the same time my head was bobbing to it. I think I'll save this OST somewhere, so that I can listen to it again a bit more after the jam

Really interesting soundtrack. DeceivedDiscovery and Underwater graveyard were cool, but Main menu, Leaving home and Steal the energy were a bit hard to listen to. I felt that the sounds in the beginning of Main menu sounded really dry and I think that putting some effects like Reverb, Delay, EQ and other stuff like that would really help make them sound better and glue them together. While all the tracks use really cool, interesting, experimental sounds I think that they lack some melodic patterns that I could follow and because of that none of the tracks were really memorable. I think it would also help if you actually added a description explaining what the game would be about and where all of the tracks would be used

Loved all of the sound design, maybe composition wise it's a bit on the simpler side and could have some more variation, but I think all the cool sounds compensate for that

I loved the combination of these NES-like 8 bit sounds with some more real but still retro sounding instruments. The time signature changes were really creative and I don't know why, but there's something about how you used the dulcimer I really liked. Solid retro sounding soundtrack

What a funky soundtrack. The guitar in Crazy Me is awesome, but there's something that makes the track seem not as "full" as it could be. For example I felt that it lacked something in certain frequencies, because the bass ocupies the low frequencies and the guitar plays mainly in higher ones and I felt that there's a gap in the middle frequencies (which I confirmed looking at the spectrogram). Funky Me has a lot more of that "fullness" and My Dreams (I really liked that one) being a calmer track doesn't really need to occupy the full spectrum, so they are both good in that aspect. I also felt that some drums' elements (like some of the hi hats and rides) were a bit louder than they needed to be. Nonetheless I really enjoyed the entire soundtrack

Cool soundtrack, I feel that it really fits the game you described. Follow Me is really calm, dream-like, but it sounds like it was building up to something and never got there and there's not that much melodic material to make the track really memorable. Finding the Way Home is really interesting, I really liked the slow down at 1:03, but I also agree with chrisiguess that the instruments feel a bit "dry". Other than that good work, keep creating!

Great soundtrack! Really reminds me of those old school RPGs and the days when I would spend hours creating little stories in RPG Maker as a kid. So much nostalgia... I really liked Journey Towards Reality and Mystical Power. Conspiracy was a nice tone change. Encounter was really cool too, a bit more dynamic, but I feel that for a battle theme it maybe should be even more impactful/powerful, because I've heard some similar tracks that are actually area/location themes, but that really depends on the type of game. Also I think that Living in Paradise lacks a leading melody, while there actually is a melody it's played by instruments that seem kinda in the "background", so I think it's not as clear as it could be and as others already said the mix is a bit muddy sometimes. But overall I really enojoyed all the tracks

Really nice track, it's quite different than the rest of the submissions for this jam. I think it has a good balance between repetitiveness and variation and the composition is great, especially for a first song, but I think you should get some better sounds, there are many good free VSTs and sound libraries. For real instruments there are things like Labs and SINE Player with Layers and some other free libraries for it, Ample Guitar is quite good for a free plugin, oh and also Ample Bass. For sound design and all the electronic music stuff there's Vital, which is basically "free Serum". If you want to make similar EDM-like music you should probably learn about techniques like compression and sidechaining and other effects you can apply to your instruments. I know that for compression OTT is widely used in the EDM world (at least when it comes to free stuff), for other effects you probably can just use stock FL Studio plugins and you'll be fine

I loved the use of descending chromatic bass lines in both Mr Grimbeek's house and Nightmare, which I like to use in my own tracks as well. It's always a bit harder to write good harmonies above a chromatic bass line like this and I think you handled it really well. Even though Mr Grimbeek's house could use a bit more variation in chords and melodies throughout the track it was still really interesting and pleasant to listen to. I feel like Dreamland could use some more chord changes, but it was a really nice calm track. I also liked Entering my world and all the melodies used throughout this soundtrack were really enjoyable. The tone change in Nightmare was nice too, it's a bit different than the other tracks, but still fits well with the rest of the soundtrack. Overall I think it's a good submission and I enjoyed listening to it

Sounds really good, would definitely fit an underwater location or an underwater themed game, but I think you should have added more variation to the melodies and chord progressions throughout the track. Also I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the notes in the "Drops 2" are sometimes really off grid. While moving notes slightly off grid can make the melody sound more human if it's too much off grid it can sound as if the melody isn't timed correctly or isn't playing in right rythm if you know what I mean. But still I liked this track, I definitely see this as something that could be in an actual indie game

Cool ambient soundtrack, but sometimes gets a bit repetitive. For example Dem Ende entgegen has hardly any change, only new instruments added. You should probably change the chords and melodies a bit from time to time, because if they are repeated too many times they can get a bit jarring to listen. You also don't have to only add instruments, sometimes removing some in the middle of a track does the trick and makes the music more interesting to listen to. Removing some instruments can give some more breath to the listeners ear and can give more space for different instruments. I like Die Einkaufshalle with these drums, a bit different than the rest of the soundtrack, but I feel that it's a bit too short and would again get a bit repetitive if played in loop inside a game. I think that Ein Kindeslied is structured a bit better, becuase the melody and chords actually change throughout the track, but this time the track even lacks a bit of repetitiveness and sometimes the melody sounds all over the place because of that. You need to find a sweet spot between lack of repetitiveness and too much repetitiveness, because if the track doesn't have any repetitions then it won't be really memorable, but if it has too much then it can get a bit annoying to listen to. Now Einkaufshalle Start has more of what I was talking about, it's repetitive, but not too repetitive, has some instruments added, some removed, I liked that one. It's really hard to judge Hochfahren, because it's more of an ambient track, a bit of context (where it's meant to play in the game) would help. I like Unbekanntes Zuhause, the melody is a bit more memorable than in other tracks and uses cool sounds, idk if there's anything else I should say about this track. Wahrheit is a really cool, calm track too I really like the reversed guitar.

Also the SoundCloud link doesn't work, so I think you should fix that

Stuck in Time - Begins really calm almost like an ambient track, but then when the melodies come in the track becomes really emotional, and the melodies are really memorable
The Earth Can't Hold Me - Another becautiful track, I can feel all the emotions you tried to convey - loneliness, a bit of fear of the dangerous space, being lost both physically and mentally
Overall solid soundtrack. Honestly I wish it was even longer, because it's really good

Beautiful soundtrack. I really liked the incorporated "watery" sounds, it really fits the theme. I would love to hear these tracks in an actual game

Cool stuff. Would be really good for an old school FPS game. I also agree with everything FoxHyode already said, it's good, original, but could use some melodies in some tracks to make it more memorable, but I get it that you wanted to make the soundtrack more ambient and I think that these tracks would really fit in an actual game

Wow, that's an awesome soundtrack. I loved all the tracks, they are quite diverse, but cohesive at the same time. Beautiful, very memorable and emotional melodies. I love how many different instruments there are and how good they sound together, every instrument complementing each other. I also love the range of emotions in this soundtrack and the fact that the soundtrack itself tells it's own story, I can get what the game would be about just by listening to these tracks, I don't even have to read the description to get a feeling of how the game would look like. I would like to be able to compose music as good as this one day

Also could I ask you what plugins/libraries do you use? Because all of the sound are beautiful and I just started making orchestral music not that long ago

Thanks, some of these tracks were a bit rushed since I didn't have much time and had to make the majority of the tracks the last 2 days of the jam. First I wasn't even going to include "Dreamtown" and "Inside My Mind", but I finished them quickly before the end of the jam. I used mainly free samples and VSTs and I used some compression to make the sounds a bit louder, but whenever a sample has some noise the compressor picks that up and boosts it, that's why "Dreamtown" has that white noise, I could have fixed it, but in the rush to submit the project on time I forgot to do that.
Also fun fact: Originally I didn't plan to add any drums to "Mindspace", but I had a small "creative block" while making it and I didn't know what to add next, so I threw some random drums to see how that would work and it actually worked so I kept them and started building the rest of the track around them

Cool idea. Could be an interesting game if you had the time to actually implement that idea

Can't run it. There is no windows nor linux executable

Cool game, nice art style. I enjoyed it. But at first it was really hard to find the spots where I needed to plant the products

(1 edit)

Ok, nevermind. Now I finally found it. I had to interact with the products near the red camera light

(1 edit)

I interacted with everyting, but nothing happens. I don't know what to do in order to progress

Nice art, but I don't know how to actually play this game. The plant just grows by itself and I don't have to do anything

Interesting concept. The restart screen is a bit annoying. I would rather just press space or R instead of waiting 2 seconds. And the movement feels a bit weird. It doesn't move smoothly but in weird increments. I mean moving in increments wouldn't be that bad if it were 45 degree or 90 degree rotations. But the character sometimes rotates 90 degrees, sometimes less than that, sometimes more and that's just really annoying

Awesome game! I really enjoyed the puzzles, some were a bit hard and I got stuck a few times, but eventually completed every level

Cool concept. Graphics could be a bit more polished

Great, relaxing game. I really enjoyed it!

Great game! I love how quickly it gets chaotic

Fun game! I really enjoyed it! I like that if you get stuck at the beginning the music stops too :D

Great game! I really enjoyed it. It has some really good replayability. I like that you can buy permanent upgrades with your score
