Description
You're an old, hardened-by-life detective, solving cases in your hometown - Fallen City. Your next case leads you to the Underbelly - a perilous part of the city. Although you try to stick to the shadows, you're discovered by a gang of Ravagers. Those hellish creatures rip other humans apart and sew their body parts to themselves. You make a stand, fighting for your life.

Fallen City is an imaginary pixel-art adventure game and this track plays during one of your fights.

---

This mini OST was made in less than 48 hours with Reaper DAW, DeepMind 12 synth, my Jackson guitar and Bias FX 2 VST.

Message from the artist:
With this track, I wanted to experiment with trash/punk guitars and synths. I'm quite happy with what I managed to come up with in such a short time.

How does it fit the theme?
This track plays during a fight in the dystopian Fallen City.

Sick guitar riff, surprised by how well it fits with the 8-bit sounds. Great job! Love your description of the ravagers

Thank you, I was actually surprised by it as well xD As for description - that is probably a result of playing From Software games for many, many years :D

This rocks so hard! I love how the whole song builds around the guitar riff and you really run away with it. My favorite section is at 1:50 when the guitar becomes the focus again and blends with that verby synth. Great song!

Developer

Thanks, I'd say that's my favorite part as well :)

Ha, I was thinking "wow this guitar synth sounds so realistic!" Little did I know... Good guitar work.

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate it! :) I also tweaked the sound and tried to make it more "synthetic".

Yesssss, more electric guitar! Had a lot of fun listening to this. Great riffs. :)

Developer

Thanks! I find myself always drawn to the guitar and blending it with synth sounds, glad you liked it :)

Guitars are relatively rare in this jam, so always glad to hear some!

The riffs are nice, they keep the rythm going strong, combined with the nice synthy leads, makes for a nice combination. I like the note choice which really fits contextually, considering this is a game about a detective! Well done!

Thanks! I spent most of my time nailing the riffs, the rhythm, and the sound of it so I'm glad you liked it. I tried for it to be the base and drive the whole "action vibe".

Really cool action theme!

Excellent theme! Really lots of excitement rolled into this one. Taking this one with me on one of my runs sometime this week :D

Love the 8-bit sounds you added on top of the excellent guitar. Also really like the drum fills (clap!).

Developer

I didn't know what to expect with the idea of blending distorted guitars and retro synths, but I'm glad it worked out somehow :D

Yay, I'm always happy when real instrument recordings are used in an entry!Listening to it without context, I would have liked a little more variation in the middle section, but as a theme for a fight where the player is probably mostly focused on the enemy, I think it would work perfectly fine. Apart from that, I think I would have enjoyed it if you had doubled down and also used the guitar for the lead voice, as I find the current lead texture a bit bland. Still, all in all, a very solid entry, well done!

Developer

I wanted specifically a synth as a lead, but maybe a guitar lead on top of that would give some cool results :) Or adding a variation where synth plays first and then the same lead is played by a guitar. I need to try it next time, thanks! :)

Nice composition and style! I like the mix of 8 bit elements with the energetic electric guitar

For some reason this reminds me of Super Meat Boy. Good stuff!

Developer

Well, I can see that - a super meat boy jumpss through the cyberpunk dystopia :D

oooo i really like it! Fits perfectly into the little pixel art adventure you said in the description, feels like its  be a banger in a final fantasy gone dark/gothic turn-based kinda thing
