- Pretty good entry! I played through the entire thing, but it started to drag on a bit near the end, in terms of enemy density. some advice for improving this concept, give the player a sort of, Pikmin whistle, or the ability to make the ghouls follow the mouse, since the mouse isn't used for much.
- Looks, sounds and plays beautifully. Theme is obvious, but utilised very well mechanically, in that you must spread Vampirism in order to build an army, in order to progress. Unfortunately, its greatest strength is also is greatest weakness: it's so close to being amazing, but the gameplay loop doesn't require much of you, can be easily 'gamed' and there is little to no reason to explore (no pickups, upgrades, etc). With minimal work, this could be on Steam selling well.

I was not expecting the voice over, it blends super well with the vibes of the game. I think you got the atmosphere super well, from the art style to the music.
The game itself is a bit slow, and the AI of the masochist minions is a bit frustrating at times. The core mechanics are very fun though, I would love to see a progression system where the curse gets more powerful.
Super good work, congrats!
Really interesting! Technically, everything seemed super-smooth. I liked the teeth transition effect, the low-fi sprites and eerie music, and your own voice acting which isn't half bad!
I got momentarily puzzled by the various mechanics... till I saw the teeth hovering over a villager and realised what was up XD I imagine in a more fully realised version of the game, you'd introduce these things one at a time perhaps.
I see you even themed the GDD, nice touch! Great submission, well done.
Really well done! Nice creepy aesthetic and excellent gameplay on top of it! This is clearly something you put a lot of time and effort into. A few notes that I picked up.
1) I'm a bit of a numbskull, and when playing through the first level I missed the ghoul mechanic (which is way cool btw), and killed all the villagers and thus wasn't able to complete it. Perhaps you could have some villagers respawn to avoid that? It wasn't awful to fix, I just had to restart the level, but it was a little annoying.
2) Personally I'd like a control configuration that doesn't use the mouse.
That said, this is really cool. I loved the little voice clips and commentary the main character makes as you move him around, and think that could be expanded on in key places to make something really charming. The core gameplay loop is stellar and definitely something I'd love to see expanded into a full game.
Great Work mate love the game play
Hey Guy, you did a great job on this. All your hard work since 2021 is really paying off in the details. For 2 weeks of work this feels super nice.
I could see myself diving deep for hours in something like this.
Great stuff. Dig the art style! My son aced it on his first run, where as I was killed on the first location. Says more about my skills than the difficulty level of the game. Keep em comming!
Feels good to play, pretty long for a jam, but enjoyed it!
Great art, but really slow, especially for a game jam entry.
Amazing entry! The voice acting made it immediately unique. Also loved the dark vibes. ❤
oh thanks I was so flusterd by my voiceacting xD makes me cringe today when I hear it xD
Great game! One of the best I've played on this jam! Here are a few things I noticed: the arrow showing the exit from the level can be blocked by the player character; I wish dodging was focused on the direction of movement instead of the cursor; you can't suck the blood out of civilians when your minions attack them, so if you want to heal, you have to get to a civilian first.
Well done!
Interesting game!
Very polished for the available time, my only suggestion would be to put a brightness control in the settings, I played the whole game from the minimap, I almost couldn't see anything it was so dark.
Congrats to the devs!
This is really good! No notes.
Really cool game, very creative take on the spreading theme and was pretty fun to play through, thought I suspect I should have played through at a higher difficulty. The quality and experience definitely shines through.
This is really awesome! I like all of the little details!
I like your take on the spreading mechanic. Good job!
The "its spreading" idea is one of the most creative plus this is one of the most complete games I've seen on here, I wouldn't be surprised if you were on to a winning game here
I had a ton of fun. Really ingenious way to interpret the theme. Give me some ideal for future game.
Very cool atmosphere/aesthetic and I love the lighting effects. I didn't realize at first that I could bite people to turn them into ghouls so ended up walking around the level unsure how to progress since there was nothing left to bite. When I try to curse the water pools it seems like the hitbox is very tiny or I'm missing something about them because I couldn't always get them to work. Thought I would let you know in case you were planning to make updates!
Really cool, i had a lot of fun with it, i think the combat could be expanded more if you are thinking of making future updates, but overall i think it turned out great, congrats!
