- I liked the art and sound direction. The menus worked whenever I wanted to use them. The transitions worked well. The fonts were really well used. I don't think the theme fit very well into the game you've made here. Shadows and Alchemy both really didn't have much to do with the mechanics of the game. Thanks for the game!

This is a visual novel with mechanics involving interactive background elements, turn-based combat, and meaningful player choice!
Extra Notes
The game has a circular story to tell, where the hero becomes the villain after all.

Oooh a really cool and visually stunning visual novel. I was not expecting this!
Honestly my only complain about the game is the fact it auto-loads on the page and scared the **** out of me with the loud music.
The art looks great the backgrounds and characters are all SERIOUSLY well done and designed.
The audio is awesome and I was not expecting a battle or two what a surprise!
The choices were pretty awesome and being kicked out of the castle a few times was pretty interesting. After the initial scene of hiding from the guards I was able to get through the rest of the game without much issue.
The guard fight took me a couple of tries because I think the RNG on the attack and healing is a bit too all over the place so i just spammed the shadow smite every time until RNG fell in my favor.
The story reveal at the end was pretty interested, I thought I would have the choice not to kill the king if I tried it again so I reloaded a save but the ending was still the same.
Overall a fantastic and solid story and adventure and very high quality for being done in 2 weeks. It would be awesome to see if this was expanded on after the jam into a full narrative visual novel.
We have plans for balancing things, and for making the game longer, including the possibility of another ending??
Thank you so much for your review. It made the team happy to read them.
Lovely artwork and storytelling! I always appreciate visual novels that have interactive elements and combat. If you continue working this it would be cool to see some effects animation, like flickering candles or maybe clouds slowly moving through the sky, etc. Overall you've got a really creative game already, keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!
ohhh! Another VN! Im always happy about that!
Its very well Written so far and music is fitting. :3
Thanks! We worked hard getting the tone of the story right, and spent a lot of time on the music. We bought the license for a lot of tracks before we settled on these.
Wonderful and emotional game, great art, very creative and unexpected use of both themes.
Thanks! Those are very nice things to say.
Great Art and story! personally i just wish it had a little more action. Some animations and SFX as other suggested. GJ overall
Thanks for playing! I'd like to add those as well.
This novel is really well written, I was moved as Dxxxx tried to do what he tried to do (no spoiler). Art Style is amazing, and interaction on point. I can easily see this to become a more complex story with more exploration and interaction with the environment. GG
Thanks!
You've turned me into a monster :(
This was a nice short visual novel. The artwork and music was very nice and impressive!
The combat could have been more satisfying with added visual and sound effects.
I encountered a bug where if you choose to not fight darius the health bars and labels for you an Darius remain at the top of the screen.
Overall a pretty good emotional short story!
Good catch! I thought I fixed that. Thanks for the feedback!
I died, great art and fitting music, well done!
Thanks for playing!
