- I think the puzzle element is fun. some more player interaction would be fun. for example maybe you have to platform closer until you can use your skills. like the cutting

A physics-based puzzle game where you slice and cut paths for your ingredients to bounce into a flaming cauldron. Navigate through dense shadows with the help of Sly, your clever cat, to ensure every ingredient finds its way home.
Extra Notes
This is my first game ever, as well as first time I try pixel-art and publishing my own home made music. Everything is made by myself and I'm proud.

Really creative and well made mechanics. The shadows made things a little hard to see but I suppose that was the point. Clever and fun game, great job!
Thanks a lot! 🙂
there certainly is bouncing and brewing
The shadows in this game really make the fps drop hard down. I think it would of been better to have the shadows in a radius around the the player to render if u really need them so not all shadows are being rendered as Webgl can not handle that.
The bounce sfx was on point!
Love the character sprite and the choice of music
Very clever usage of the theme(s)!
I feel like the shuriken was overpowered and it was prolly not easy to balance the game in that amount of time.
Maybe walls that cannot be destroyed by shuriken or limited usage on powers would make the game a little more challenging (if you feel like it needs it), as soon as I got the shuriken I didn't feel the need to move my character cause I could solve it with just shuriken.
Overall very, very good submission for the 1st jam.
Short game with few mechanics that you could expand upon.
Hey! some of the puzzles in this game were quite fun and open-ended to solve. I wish there would have been some platforming requirement though, maybe a max distance from which the tool can be used. I found myself just standing still at the start and cutting up the level so the ingredient would bounce correctly. Also felt the alchemy theme tie in was a bit weak.
Still, overall well-executed.
this game is a lot of fun
Thank you!
Really enjoyed the game! Really fun to play!
the platforming is really sensitive but the puzzles are fun to solve and I enjoyed trying to headbutt the ingredient into the pot when it went off course <3
Thanks SleepGoose! :)
Great first game! I enjoyed the slicing mechanic a lot. The platforming was a bit finicky and I don't think the lighting mechanic meshed well but I had fun solving the puzzles. Great job!
Thank you!
I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me a while to realize what chunking or slicing was but when I did I was very impressed with the innovative game mechanics! I've never seen mechanics like that! Nice light and shadows effect as well and good progressive level design. I like the pixel art but I think the character was too small on screen, could be scaled up at least twice the size
Thanks VistaRealms! Yes a character overhaul is planned. I added this character as a temporary one, since it's my cat that I've made a animation for. I was planning to create a whole new character with animations for all directions etc! But time ran out so quickly. Then my cat character grew on me so I'll think I'll do a updated pixel-art of him with more animations!
Thanks again for your kind words!
First of all, I found the pixel art really cute! There's some personality in it.
I'm impressed with the mechanics and physics, especially considering it's your first game! I personally can't even begin to think how to make the line mechanic or the chunk-eating-sword mechanic. Although the levels are short and sweet, I can see you being able to get very creative with things if given more time and all.
That reminds me, very creative way of imbuing the shadow theme on your game! Having the player move around to see more of the surrounding area and all. Very creative!
The music, albeit short, kind of reminded me a bit of Cut the Rope! I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I did see on your GDD that it was one of the inspirations for the game mechanics, so I thought it was kinda cool the music reminded me of it a bit.
Good stuff. Keep making games!
Wow faulko! Thank you for your beautiful review, I really appreciate it!
Thank you!
Hey, the game is really simple but fun none-the-less; a really nice casual puzzle game. I’d love to see more content, but for a first game it’s really impressive to have functioning physics and an environment that can be interacted with like that. The shadows add an interesting touch to the visuals of the game but I feel like they could be leveraged more to make the game a little more interesting (so you have to use your environment to find where the ingredient is dropping from - this might be too frustrating, but it’s an idea).
In discord you asked what the most important things were, and I think enemies or global obstacles would be a great way to add more content and complexity to the game.
Overall, the game is fun, and I hope you keep making things :).
Thanks for your great input! I agree with everything you've said! Thanks!
Its a nice mechanic and interesting puzzle. my initial thought was that shadows would play more of a role like be solid and where it is lit it is air and you have to guide the potion that way. GJ!
That was my first intention of the game, to have the shadows affect the object directly, but then I ran in to too much performance issues so I had to pivot into this where the shadows are a reason to move your character because of visibility of the level.
Thanks for your feedback!
I like this a lot, the music is subtle, the sound effects are good and the game mechanics start simple but allow you to solve the puzzles in unique ways.
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Really fun idea! Super impressive too that this is your first game ever. Bright future ahead for sure, thank you for sharing your game. You SHOULD be proud!
Thanks, that means a lot! Thank you!
funny silly jumping cat. and silly cat music on the background. LOVE IT.
really cool mechanic with cutting stuff, and the puzzles are really nice. great quality for your first game!
Thanks furken! Beautiful cat profile picture!
Cool idea! Don’t really have a criticism that other people didn’t mention already. Nicely done!
Thank you foliagic!
If this is your first game like you said then you've got a lot to be proud of here. No fps issues. no big playability issues. Pretty good puzzles! good job and keep making games!
Thank you Grantler! Yes it's my first game and first time with pixel art. I've been a developer for over 7 years so I got that going for me which is nice! It's also the first time I've published any of my songs.
Thanks again! I'm very proud over my creation and I'll continue working on it!
What a fun concept! Good art and music! Super fun!
Thank you Goliathsyn! 😍
Very fun and unique puzzle game. I love that the ball has a bit of randomness to it, so when I almost complete the puzzle by a hair, I can just wait and cheer for it to go into the pot the next time.
Thank you very much! :)
Very neat physics cutting game! It was simple, yet challenging.
Thanks Jyunaut! :)
