- Good audio design that matches the theme. I got a feel the game was going to be medieval in nature from the art and then the music. I was instantly transported to the place you want the player to be. GG! The story telling is very well done. It was introduced with text, visuals and audio design that all came together to give the lore. Love it! The funny nature of the game was communicated with the sound effect of the "boink" about the grandson sucking. Hahaha. Loved that. Very good! A bit more guidance in game about how to change the direction of the grandson would help. I couldn't figure out how I was getting him to change walking directions even after much trial and error. It didn't seem to be consistently responding to the sword's actions I was taking. Really great interpretation of the game theme. The world building and lore was all well done and came together nicely to create an engaging game that I, as a player, was intrigued by. I really wanted to help the grandson. A volume slider for the music and sound effects would be really appreciated! Thank you for your submission to the game jam. Great job and I hope you keep working on it!

I thought this idea was incredible lol 🤣🤣 I think it nails the theme very well, as you become the weapon that guides your grandson. It's a silly idea, but very well executed. I enjoyed this a lot. And the music added to the experience very well too. I did find it a little difficult in some levels. The sprites were well designed too, and completing each level was very charming to see the grandson proud of his achievement lol. I think you did great, awesome game!!
This is nicely made! I especially like the music and graphics of the game, it add so much charm. The mechanic is also quite innovative too, although a bit hard to play I still like it very much! There is this one bit or criticism where the ghost can go out of bound revealing all those parallax background, and it really breaks the immersion of the game. It should be simple fix though so it's not a big deal.
This is a very good entry and you should be proud of yourselves! Well done!
So fun!!
I enjoyed this so much. Great art and great music as well!
The grandfather and grandson have so much character. The art style and music are great. The introduction was well done. The gameplay was fun but I was surprised the sword would strike immediately upon possession. Some indication that the grandfather could possess something would really level this game up.
This was really cool. I like the premise a lot it's very funny. I like the art style a lot too. The mechanic of possessing different stuff is cool and I liked it a lot when there was a lot of different stuff to control like in the level before the boss. I unfortunately didn't beat the boss cuz I accidentally clicked return to menu instead of try again when I died one time, but I had a lot of fun getting up to that point. Great work!
Great scene composition on the intro! I loved the concept very funny idea and character design.
First time I played, before I possessed the sword, I quickly found myself dropping below the parallax zone for the backgrounds. Some ground pinning might be a good idea.
Controls take some getting used to, but aren't unintuitive. I do wonder if maybe controlling the direction of the sword is enough to "lead" the character the same way? Rather than having to swiping the sword in the air to change direction after landing a tight jump?
Great work!
World building is on point. liked a lot.
omggggg my dumbass grandson got to like level 4 or something
This game really makes you feel like your grandson is an idiot, 10/10
Really cool idea, love it
I find it really cool! I like the duo's sprites and the intro is really cool looking as well.I got a bit frustrated when the spike levels started because, since the sword swings at the same time you click to posess it, I accidentaly killed my grandson more than once because I posessed the sword at the wrong time (later I figured out I just needed to click forward of the character to swing at the air instead of the ground and that helped). I like the idea and the lore behind the game's story. I just wish my grandson had the common sense of not dropping himself off the platforms while I go fetch a box. Goddammit grandson.
Very cute game. The art and music is very charming. The tone of the music, and especially the chimes after victory and stuff really sell the atmosphere you're trying to set, I think. It's kinda funny how you can keep swinging after you die, cuz you're the sword and not the grandson. One thing that was very frustrating for me though, is that this game really encourages you to spam-click with the gameplay, but after you die, the death menu pops up and I would accidentally click the menu button and lose all my progress. I got a handful of levels in at least 4 times before I couldn't do it anymore with restarting from scratch.
Cool concept, though. I'd love to see cute interactions between the grandpa and the grandson, I think that would really capstone this experience.
I love the ka-cling every time you hit the sword on the terrain. Controls were very easy to pick up and intuative.
This is so me and my grandson.
Love the concept and the execution is so cute and cosy; the pixel art is gorgeous and the animations are so charming. A really lovely entry, great work!
A silly little game (in a positive way). I would've liked a way to pause, at least between levels, but otherwise I liked this take on puzzle platforming and the music was unintrusive. The animasions really stood out in this one, too. Love the victory one in particular.
Interesting game. Music is a nice touch. I really like the concept of possessing the "heros" sword to help them.
