Beautiful graphics with a comforting Bob Ross-esque background painting that wouldn't have looked out of place at the family cottage, and nice slightly grungey soundtrack with some of the most cursed and infuriating gameplay I've encountered thus far!

Well don't get me wrong the jumping can be fun and funny, but as someone who has enver been big on platformers, and especially platformers with intentionally weird or frustrating mechanics, I didn't manage to complete the game. Though I do like how creative and janky the levels got as time went on, and while I wasn't able to beat them they are pretty impressive for how quickly they were made.

And on a technical level I really like how the water was implemented, it was almost too good for a SBIG game!

So overall admittedly not my favourite, but still enjoyable and respectable. Good work!

So fun! I never knew how much I wanted to be a Salmon! I was instantly drawing comparisons to like Ecco The Dolphin or Hungry Shark, but the cool thing about Salmon is how much they can jump! They're agile lil things!

The platforming is really fun, and over time you can get really good at it. I loved how well tuned the physics of the water were and just how good it felt! Was really impressed!

The levels had the perfect mix of janky design but really fun and well balanced leaps! I think this concept could really be expanded into something great, and I'd be really interested  in what  an expanded version of this game would be like! Thanks so much for submitting, and well done!

I genuinely love the water effect. The other graphics were very SBIG, good job.

I really wanted to like gameplay, and I sorta did, but I feel this would be a little more fun if rotation speed was a bit slower. Would definitely make it feel a little less janky, but I think still janky enough to qualify as SBIG. I got stranded on a rock at a certain point and didn’t seem to have a way to restart? Which was a little annoying.

Overall, though, I liked this one a lot, definitely has a nice SBIG vibe to it!

Yeah look forward to improvements we're making later for the game. We sadly only had one programmer on this so we didn't get enough time to finish what we could, had to cut features just so I could get 4 levels built in time for a game! Expect the instant restart button to exist soon enough along with maybe rotation sensativity (I'm still fighting for this one).

I love the way the fish handles, would totally play more games that handle the way this one does. Not having a restart hotkey would probably be annoying on harder levels though

Developer

Yeah we intended to have one earlier but it wasn't working and I had to make a call to cancel debugging it about 3 hours before the jam was over. That gave me 2 hours to make and play test everything myself.

That was a surprisingly fun game. Besides the last water bubble on the final level not working (and the narrow water bubble thing on that level not being worth using, it being easier to jump over that bubble entirely than attempt using it), this was a rather enjoyable experience. Bravo.

The graphics and sound are almost too nice for a So Bad It's Good game, but the gameplay is super cursed. I got to the second level and gave up after launching myself halfway off the screen a few times. The fact that there's no bottom is weird and awful, but hilarious.

Developer

Haha yeah, I should have reordered these levels a bit better. The first two levels were more tutorials given to us on how to build levels. The last 3 were more actual levels (questionable since the last two levels were just as janky)

It's like QWOP for Pacific Northwest girlies 🐟

That was pretty fun! Loved the physics and controls. It kind of felt like "QWOP" but with a fish. I could imagine a longer version of this being a really fun "Foddy-like" rage game. Great entry!

Great vibes and pretty complete! The artstyle is so pretty and the music is groovy. Enjoyed the very janky controls for the fish. Nice job!

Yeah sadly we only got the level editor working like 2 hours before the jam was over. So instead of mostly regular levels, I went with a 2d Guts and Glory kind of build. We may build upon this in the future with more mechanics and improved features.

Oh, I do hope you'll let me know if you guys develop this further, I would love to try it again with any further polish/love put into it again.

Hope you guys still enjoyed making the game!

music was good, art was good, felt like an actual proper game:) The untested level says that it has a coin but it doesnt so i was left with depression after i failed to collect all salmon points, and i think the last water bubble on the last level just doesnt work:P

Developer

The last one short of works :D the janky physics of water and hit detection is your enemy ;D Thanks for playing our game though!
