all the game is nice but you should change the music, maybe
I am currently working on changing the music. Thank you for the input!
Well designed game. The various difficulties make it playable for any skill level. The easier variants were good to discover and get used to, and the hardest difficulties make sure that the game is not at all trivial and make it challenging to get a high score. Nice work!
Thank you! I tried my best to wrap the difficulty's in with point multipliers to encourage playing on harder difficulties if you wish to get an higher score.
clever concept and loved the graphics. I think it needs some work on the sound and music( but thats just my opinion)
I would have to agree the spot I was lacking most was sound and music. I hope to teach myself some more on music and sound design to give the game the music it deserves.
I liked the concept of a platformer where you have to constantly be pushing up. The jumping tied in nicely with that too, i.e. a long floaty jump with a lot of boost if you hold space.
I just didn't find the movement particularly enjoyable. It was a bit to slow with no momentum. Just needed a bit more depth in my opinion.
I like that you attempted to put in some story in a score attack game. Very interesting!
After that jam I have been trying to implement more depth to the movement system such as glide and possibly sprinting to help make it an bit more enjoyable from that standpoint. I hope the new movement system will be more enjoyable in the long run. Thank you for the suggestion.
Not bad. I like the menu and the rooms flow together well. Good for trying with the music but I'm writing this with it in the background. It doesn't get better lol. I recommend listening to some chiptunes on youtube. Hear how it's put together with a beat and a melody. Try Lmms if you need new software.
I will definitely take an look at Lmms I used bosca ceoil which is an great program however I am not all to great with music design sadly. Thank you for the recommendations I will be sure to try it out.
I have to agree with earlier sentiments on the music and the data but everything else about the game was pretty great in my opinion! The jumping took a bit of time to get right, but felt good. I think the level designs were really interesting, too, like how hitting the switches unlocked platforms that dropped a weight onto another switch. Really creative stuff!
I agree with all the comments on the music I need to do some serious work on it. I hope to implement a tutorial to help new players get used to the mechanics. Thank you for the input.
Yeah the bug with the logs is a bit unfortunate. But besided that that's a really cool entry. I really liked the mechanic were you have to find and activate all the buttons to progress to the next section. Great idea!
Thank you for the input. I hope that I can eventually make the button mechanic an bit more of an puzzle.
I really enjoyed this game! The only problem was the logs text, I also got stuck picking them up. Really great work!
Thank you I will fix the log system. Also, did the chance of finding story material seem too low?
I don't think so, unfortunately I skipped them because i was afraid of being stuck again
Big oof! At first when I looked at your game is seemed very interesting to play and it didnt disappoint me
Thank you so much for the review!
A good take on an updwards platformer, and definitely consistent with the theme for the jam. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to give a little more ability to the jetpack, for maybe abilities like gliding or at least slowing your falling speed significantly. Overall, good job, and I like the difficulty in the “impossible” category. Also the music is a little jarring, so maybe something slightly softer.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I will definitely look into an gliding ability and some softer music! I will be sure to check your game out!
Really good game overall, perhaps a little, painful on the music.
the game is quite smooth, the "jumping" with the jetpack is very not-straightforward as it takes a while to get use to, the level tiles could use a little more work as a lot of times you have to go back because you missed a hard-to-see button.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I will make the music softer thank you. :) I will be sure to check your game out!
