Cool game! I made it to 75

A runner!

This isn’t bad and potentially a bit above my skill level, but decent none the less! The aesthetics were nice and controls fit well! My only complaint is there was not much detail in-game about controls and how they could be used. I wish there was some sort of tutorial level to help the player prepare for how to use each mechanic in this runner.

Otherwise, great game! Good job!

Developer

Thank you and thats a totally valid critique! With more time I would have liked to polished up some more, but sadly I ran out of time.

Pretty fun and challenging! I really appreciate the lighting effects and the sound effects. I played this quite a few times, its compelling and addicting.

Damn that was hard! I like the generation, lights and design.

Is there a way to go down a platform? Also in certain situation I was not able to climb with a rope through a platform, not sure how I should survive XD

Really good job that was neat and fun!

Developer

:D you can go down the ladders. Pressing down, when you're right above it. Though there is some platforms that don't let you pass through them, and in those cases the ropes are more meant to be used to cross, Donkey Kong country style lol. Thanks for playing!

WOW! I've enjoyed a lot! (5 stars for enjoyment) What a difficult challenge!

I loved all the character movements and having a new scenario every time I played. Great job!

Maybe, you'll appreciate my game. Difficulty enough for you :D

Developer

:D Thanks for giving it a try! I will definitely check out your game too.

Neat game :) The procedurally generated level gave it a lot of replayability. However the wall stick was very hit and miss for me, and occasionally one obstacle will overlap slightly with the next one, which is not usually an issue but if you're unlucky it can lead to an impassable obstacle, which is kind of a bummer. The visuals were very good, the chromatic aberration was really effective.

Gotta say though, you missed an opportunity to call it "3 2 run" :D

Developer

LOL that would have been great name! :D Thanks for the feedback, yeah I have a bug somewhere in the level generation where it's causing sets to overlap. But I didn't get a chance to find the bug and fix it.

The game looked and sounded real nice, but the controls were very unresponsive and I kept dying on my first jump... I replayed about ten times and never got any farther than the first time I had to jump. I don't know if the ropes were actual ropes, but nothing I did made them work for me. I thought maybe up and down arrows, but that just shifted my whole screen (ie like hitting down on a website with scrollbars would do). There was nothing I could do, because I couldn't do anything at all. I really wanted to, though, because the game looked and sounded amazing.

Also, for a runner-style game, it seems like you move very slowly.

Developer

Wow, thank you for trying so many times! Yeah it really sucks that the page moves when using arrow keys, and that I forgot to map the WASD keys to movement.

The only way around that now is to play in fullscreen unfortunately.

The ropes can indeed be climbed with the up arrow. If you're willing to try again (and I completely understand if you're not)  try clicking on the game (bringing focus to it essentially ). The itch.io page will probably still move, but at least you should have full controls in the game. Or try fullscreen.

Yeah the slow running was a design choice. I understood that not everyone will like that, but I wanted it to feel like you're in one of those dream/nightmare where you move in almost slow motion; but too slow would be boring, and too fast would feel generic IMO. It's supposed to feel awkward though.

Anyways, thanks again for playing, Cheers!

I LOVE the dithering  effects going on here.  Brings   fluidity and depth  to the visuals. Doesn't get stale with the changing maps. The controls were fluid  enough for a nice runner feel.     Found myself playing this for a while . Great Work!

nice aesthetics. Feel a little bit clunky by time.

This is perfection! And it looks and feel so good too, amazing work!

Developer

:D Thank you very much!!

Man I am way to bad for such kinda games :D But great concept anyhow and I love the visual filters like dithering :)

Very cool light effect and I like the idea behind the game. The jump mechanic is a little tough to get a grip on but I made it like 30m and started to get the hang of it :P

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah I kinda wanted it to feel like a dream/nightmare, so the run and jump are just a tad slower & lower than you might expect.
