It's hard to get good on it. But it's fun to play, nice game!

Developer

Thank you! And thanks for playing!

I really liked it, it made me feel like running from something and had to control my body from the fear. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! That's definitely the exact feeling I was hoping to create! Thank you for playing. btw I'd love to play your game but only have a mac... any chance of a web build after the jam ends?

I didnโ€™t get very far but I had fun with trying to balance the controls. Character looked cool. This one could do well in the 2 bit jam as well coming up I think. Very clever!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah balancing the controls was kind of the whole game, for better or worse. You're right, it's very 2-bit. Maybe I should have saved the concept for that jam!

Oh nooooo not QWOP :'D. Nice idea and concept. I enjoyed it, thanks for making!

Developer

Lol I know, I know. Thanks for playing! Btw I'd love to play your game, but sadly I only have a mac. Any chance of a web build?

Submitted(+1)

This was definetly a mistake from our side, we were not aware that a web build is possible. Once the voting period ends we will upload a web build of either a newer version or the submit build, depends on if we can fix a new bug.

Developer

Sounds good!

just wanted to let you know that our new build is now also available as web build :)

Nice, unique controlls, really liked that - but maybe it was too difficult, I think I did my best to move forward, but it was a bit weird. Really liked the minimalistic graphics, nice pixel art animation as well. Some music would be nice. GG.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I definitely wanted the controls to feel difficult and be the focus of the game, but I don't know if the concept totally worked out. Also I agree, some music would have helped propel the game along. Thanks for the feedback!

I liked it, but the controls are a bit difficult lol

Developer

Thanks for playing! I definitely wanted the controls to be frustrating, but maybe the execution didn't really end up being as fun as it could have been.

Feels a little awkward that you cant breath while walking and you have to alternate between moving and breathing. Also, i guess it doesnt give you steps, but spamming jump is much easier than walking. I like the concept though, with the right touches i think a Qwop/getting over it type intentionally obtuse control scheme could work well for horror.

Developer(+1)

You know, I totally agree with you. I actually thought about making it so you can breath while running, because it would be more realistic, but honestly I had this specific concept in mind where you had to juggle it all separately, and I don't think it was ultimately successful. The jumping thing also occurred to me, and if I could do it over again I'd remove a lot of the forward motion from the jumps. But as you say, I do think there's something here, maybe to be developed into a different game at some point. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback.

(BTW I'd love to play your game, but I only have a mac. Any chance of a web build?)

The controls are simply unrealistically difficult.

Developer

Well, thanks for playing, anyway. I definitely intended for the controls to be difficult so you had to focus on the actual mechanics of running away, and to replicate that feeling of trying to run from something in a nightmare and not being able to. (Hence the inspiration from the game QWOP.) Funnily enough, someone else in the comments said he thought maybe the controls were too easy. It's hard to nail it for everyone.

Great sounds and nice mechanics, always love a good endless runner.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I had a great experience with your game, I thought the way the space worked was super interesting.

Fun game! I like how it's not just the running and jumping, but having to control the breathing as well. Captures well the feeling of running from something.

Developer

Thank you! I was definitely trying to nail that feeling of trying to run away from something in a nightmare and just not being able to move fast enough. BTW I just played yours and, even if unfinished, I enjoyed it.

Fun little endless runner! The animation was good. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you very much! I enjoyed yours as well. Really good first game.

Thanks!

Fun QWOP style game. Very strong sound design, the breathing is great and the death sound is sharp and satisfying.

99 steps. Sounds good an characters looks good. It seemed to work pretty well to hammer the keys, if to improve upon probably to be more unforgiving to that.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It shouldn't have worked TOO well, I definitely made it so you move very slowly if you don't alternate legs and wait for the animation for each leg to end. But there's definitely room for refinement. I really enjoyed your game, btw.

Really good sound design, and great way to emulate how frustrating QWOP was lol. Got to 137 steps.

Developer

Impressive! Lol thank you. Also I just played your game, really impressive and ambitious. This is also my first Godot project, but I was nowhere near as ambitious.
